Default Maximum Delay Compensation (PDC) ?

It seems the Maximum Delay Compensation (PDC_delay) is 256000 samples... Is that correct or is it possible to create a plugin that compensates for a longer delay?

Specifically I'm trying to set the plugin's PDC to 10 times the sample-rate (In my case; 10 seconds, since the plugin works with a 10-second buffer), but I can't get that to work.

Thanks

If you're talking about JSFX, I've found 256,000 to be the limit.

On the other hand, there doesn't seem to be any such issue for VSTs: I've had the PDC up to 10 million+ and everything stays in perfect sync (aside from this problem).

Interesting. Thanks for your reply

I'm working in JSFX.

I guess Justin must have had some reason for putting in the limit, whatever that reason may be (Perhaps some memory crash-protection?)

Hmm, I will have to just accept the plugin outputting with a delay then.

You're welcome.

I seem to recall Justin saying something about performance issues with audio JSFX plugins that use significant PDC but that MIDI would be less of a problem. I think that's about as far as we got at the time.

Ah ok
I'm working with audio in this case, and not midi, so maybe it's for the best that I can't delay it. I have faith in Justin's decisions regarding Reaper

I just found out the hard way that pro tools has a steep limit on how much PDC you can use at any given sample rate. As most of my plugins use a lot of oversampling and or lookahead - looks like i will be coming back to Reaper!!
