One feature that would play well with smart folders would be to be able to add tags to the fx/synth, e.g.:

-color eq emulation vintage

-compressor drum bass

-synth va arpeggiator monophonic bassline

-synth cold digital pads athmospheres

-pitch granulator experimental

-reverb plate

Then, provided you tag your plugins right, folders could become even unnecessary.

This would be nice even for the JS plugins. I have lots of them and it's hard to remember names.

And IMO it is better than folders because sometimes plugins fill more than one category.
