and VLC past 2.2?

Although I'm not sure if later VLCs have anything worth adding. Probably not.

VLC has always been a separate download though it might solve the most frequent video problems if it were included.

I mean that Reaper doesn't recognise/support VLC past 2.2 which means that if you don't know that, you end up using ffmpeg instead.

Just wondered if VLC would be updated and if it's even worth doing as maybe it doesn't have anything worth updating for.

Dear devs! Please, pay your attention for the regression problem with action "Ripple edit all affects tempo map". It's still there... Is this regression so difficult to repair for "ripple edit" normal functionality?

I don't see any version available higher than 2.2x

Wow.. that's weird. I could have sworn that I installed one high than 2.2 like 2.3 as I had to install 2.2 to see it in reaper on this new machine although I'd already definitely installed the "latest" before that.

Anyway. seems like I dreamed it so sorry for that.. I wonder if I got a beta instead then. I'll check

# Regions: prevent snapping marker and region edits to tempo envelope

This is a simple new project not containing any linear points. 1 region and the three points you see.
pre 11 on win7 x64

I don't think I have any use at all for snapping anything TO tempo points. On the contrary, my difficulty is keeping THEM on the grid. Usually when I copy or move a region the zoom level is such that noticing this is impossible. (I would like more granularity in the snap settings (and toggle actions to indicate it))

----------------------------------------------------------------

I mention "without any linear points" above because I'm finding guaranteed destruction of grid relationships when dropping a region into a linear segment or moving/copying a region containing a linear segment that reaches the end of the region. Efforts to isolate these segments with square points around them are meeting with unpredictability and failure. (It would be a pain to have to do it that way anyway. Especially with the snap problem.)

Also having difficulty editing these tempo markers/points when close together. Sometimes they jump around or the next point moves instead of a new one being inserted. Occasionally this can lead to destruction of grid relationships too.

Default Online Render (not responding)

Offline rendering and recording through a track in real time work perfectly but when I render with 'online' on a selected item or a full mix Reaper becomes unresponsive for about 2-10mins then processes the render.

When I render my hardware synths I have to render online to get them to print so I really need online rendering to work.

Any idea why Reaper would freeze up during an online render?
