Hey guys, as you know IPlug is getting a lot of love from Oli, so should I continue doing it my way, or to jump to Oli work?
I have already spoken to Oli via Skype over the future of IPlug and we agree most of things how stuff should be done. Currently I have provided help with cairo and some of my stuff like live editing might end up in new iplug.
I'd second that. I definitely like the idea to have one version which combines all of the new stuff. Since Olis new branch seems to include most of the needed things to make WDL future proof and offers a variety of graphic interfaces, i guess WDL-OL will be the choice to go. WDL-OL would benefit a lot of doing teamwork on it!
Why keep two versions with different features but all useful? Two programmers in one version is always better than two indipendent programmers with two versions. You could call it WDL-OY.
I like the idea of one unified WDL, but that is a selfish idea as a consumer of WDL.
I imagine that the various graphics options of the upcoming WDL-OL will make porting the Youlean resizing code a challenge. Maybe the resizing could be used for Cairo and LICE-based code at first.
we will have the same resizing functionality in the new WDL-OL, but got to do it a bit differently in order to make it work with the changes I've done.
What should I do with with IPlug-Youlean?
