Congrats ED! Thank you for your contributions to the digital audio world, especially the REAPER forum!
Awesome to see you still have a Kore 2 controller on your desk by the way! I wish that NI had never dropped support for it.

Well, it kinda had to happen, for a variety of reasons. Unfortunately. But at least they left it in a really good shape, it still works on W10 and even on latest macOS too (with some tweaks, you gotta disable SIP, for example).

Great interview, EvilDragon!

Now this is crazy ... I can swear I've seen you somewhere! When I saw the picture in the interview I immediately went "What? Wait! I know that guy!" Spooky ...

I do understand that it was time for it to be phased out. I have an older version of Controller Editor that works on OSX :-)

I see you've got Equator D5's in those photos. Pretty sure I bought mine at your suggestion. Damn shame about that company though. My left speaker's tweeter needs repair of some kind.

Yeah, quite a shame about whatever happened to them (I guess we won't ever know). Great speakers for the price!

enjoyed reading through the interview! I've got great respect for all your efforts! I definitely learned a lot by reading your posts here on the forum also. Thanks for that, ED!

btw, nice to spot the A32 in your rack. I went for the A32 Dante version and I have to say that among all the gear I ever purchased it's the one that I love the most.

Good one ED, I guess I've known you since back when you started and I've been totally amazed at at how fast you've come and what you've done. You are truly an inspiration to us all.

And I can't thank you enough for the help you've given me during the last few years, you were there when nobody else was, and you had the right answers.

Thankyou..

Cool!

Mine is the regular version, I connect it to RME UFX+ via MADI. Probably two of the best purchases I've made so far.

Thanks for the kind words, Tod!

Congrats on the interview!

I don't understand a thing about scripting but have always considered your input on forums over the years to be well thought out and authoritative. People go on and on about Instagram influencers, I would say you're the OG audio forum equivalent

Default hollow sun

Hi Mario,

It is so interesting to read a little bit of background to Evil Dragon.
I have read your contributions on so many different forums.

Stephen Howell from Hollow Sun I never met, but we did have some email contact.
I still feel a sense of loss.
In the early days the Hollow Sun samples included Akai S5000 format.
In our communications, he mentioned that he was involved with the design of the control panels of various Akai Professional recording gear.
I still use and love my Akai DR16 Pro RE32 system.

.... And the Alien Devices and Music Laboratory Machines are very cool.

All the best,
aomahana.

Cool to have some context for one of the most ubiquitous names on internet! Thanks for working so hard to facilitate music-making for basically everyone on planet Earth...too bad you don't find much time for making any of your own, though!!

Actually, it was a pretty shitty day with no sun outside at all. Was cloudy as fuck. Thanks to wonders of technology (a.k.a. flash) all you see in the pictures looks better than in reality, haha.

In that perspective, I'm impressed!!

Indeed! I hope they won't be too tired for England - playing three consecutive games against teams which play really thick defense is pretty exhausting...

Luka Modrić is the best footballer of the 2018 World Cup! He sees a lot, he knows a lot ...

Cool interview indeed. Such a clean setup. Better studio-train your kid before you let him play the synths .

Thanks, y'all!

@Airon - the setup is clean by necessity, since I don't have a dedicated studio space/room. This is all in our living room, basically. So all I have is that desk and the space to the left of it for guitars and (seldomly used) mic. Hopefully one day I'll have a bit more room to play with
