Hello everyone,
I would like to share some thoughts on the grid display:
FRAME GRID: display frames and seconds with different colors
Currently, the frame grid displays each frame with the start of measure grid line color (as set in theme tweaker window). This leads to a cluttered grid that is difficult for the eye to navigate and gather information from.
The solution would be using the same principle as the measures/beats grid, with the "start of measure" grid color marking the full seconds (e.g. 00.00.01.00), and the "start of beats" color marking the frames.
This already happens for measures and beats, so it shouldn't be too hard to implement (i guess
)
Example
(the images shown have different color profiles. I apologize for that, but seems like exporting from gimp does this)

Reworked frame grid (MOCKUP)
MEASURES AND BEATS GRID: adaptive primary/secondary colors
When the arrange view is zoomed out, Reaper already removes the secondary and tertiary grid lines, leaving only the start of measures ones.
The ruler also changes to show less information (ranges of bars instead of all bar numbers).
This "adaptive grid" could be improved by showing the primary grid color on the start of the bar range, and secondary on the bars in between.

Reworked:
EVEN BETTER (basically no in between lines shown, even though the mockup shows some. I prefer this, but maybe other users don't. An option for this would be great)
This should actually also apply to frame grid.
What do you think?
Thanks for your attention
