Default Crash when playing MIDI when playback rate reduced (v6.18 macOS Sierra 10.12.6)

Hello,

I have a reproducible crash / hang which does not produce a crash window / error report.

I am editing a piece of fast classical piano and need to double check a note with my MIDI keyboard. I reduce the playback rate to ~0.5, select "preserve pitch" and play it back without a problem. I then press a key on the keyboard, for which I have a channel setup with AUMIDISynth (Apple), record and monitor enabled. A single note plays briefly, then cuts out. I switch the keyboard off and on again and it still doesn't play back. I switch the input from "M-Audio KeyStudio All Channels" to "All MIDI Channels" and REAPER reliably hangs at this point, requiring a force quit.

When playback rate is set to 1.0 moments before, the keyboard and MIDI channel are working perfectly fine, suggesting that REAPER is having trouble with simultaneous timestretched audio an non timestretched MIDI.

Thank you,
Andy
