Default my samples lose punch if i use them in reaper.but have it in other softwares

When I decide to make a beat in reaper my Samples sound boxy.I have tried everything iknw checked the width n everyting.but no solution.guys please help me what shud I do

Can you post a couple of files, one from Reaper and one from your other DAW so we can hear the difference? Has to be a setting somewhere, might help us diagnose the problem.

Sounds like you have a short Fade-In enabled by default or sample rate mismatch.

^Reaper has an option for all audio items that you put in the time line to be given a short fade in and fade out. The fade in is enough to alter the attack of a sample.

Check preferences>project>media item defaults
