LCS-mod Short Edition
A Forum member asked me about doing a mod of the White Tie Imperial theme that could be docked on the bottom and allow another window docked on top, like the FX browser or the Midi Editor.
This is what I came up with.
Main Version:
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1724/LCS-mod_Short.zip
Dark Version:
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1747/L...Short_Dark.zip
Version Screenshots:
- Mixer Docked on Bottom - all layouts overview
https://stash.reaper.fm/27024/LCS-mo...ed_layouts.png
Dark Version Screenshots:
- Black Layouts:
https://stash.reaper.fm/27135/LCS-mo...lk-layouts.png
- Gray Layouts:
https://stash.reaper.fm/27136/LCS-mo...ay-layouts.png
- Silver Layouts:
https://stash.reaper.fm/27137/LCS-mo...er-layouts.png
- All Layouts:
https://stash.reaper.fm/27138/LCS-mo...ll-layouts.png
- Fun with Colors:
https://stash.reaper.fm/27140/LCS-mo...tom-colors.png
NOTES:
- The RecArm layouts only allow for default pan option, so the dual pan and stereo pan are only available on the other layouts.
- The RecArm layouts are no onger available in the Dark Version.
- The 'Master of the Universe' should only be used floating. If docked with mixer the meter is useless.
* Change Log:
10/01/2020
- added new TCP FX & send images
07/28/2019
- v3.01: fixed ENV button/Mono button bug on Master MCP default layout
03/28/2016
- v3.0 Dark version only - see pics
- lowered the overall height of the MCP
- changed some of the existing layouts to work better with the new height
- removed some layouts
- added new smaller layouts.
- added all pan modes to Master of te Universe. This layout should only be used in a separate window, not docked.
- added a new smaller Mini Master layout. It's only available in black.
- fixed some cosmetic issues.
- changed volume knob in TCP to match pan knob.
- uploaded new screenshots.
03/16/2016
- v2.0 Dark version of the Short theme
https://stash.reaper.fm/theme/1747/L...Short_Dark.zip
3/15/2016
- v2.0
- made the small layouts the default.
- removed the large layouts.
- added mini layouts, and new fader layouts.
- cleaned up the Big Meter Silver Master pan graphic
- new screenshot
02/24/2016
v1.6
- added unlit scales to meters.
- reworked the default and silver master MCP channel to make the control section more compact and the meter larger.
- removed all other master channels except M.O.T.U.
02/22/2016

- added new layouts:
- Silver background and Silver background with fader
- small layouts with Black, Silver and Gray backgrounds. only one pan mode is available due size constraints. see note above.

- changed mute or 'cut' LED button on MCP channels to match the style of the other LED buttons.
- removed the Gray background with fader layout.
- v1.2
- Fixed issue with FX list not showing any FX in in compact view.
- added a Red Fader layout
- added a center button layout for the Transport
.

Thanks so much. Appreciate the hard work on this.
I'll post any more feedback/suggestions after a few days using this as my main theme.

- v2.0

- removed the large layouts.
- added mini layouts, and new fader layouts.
- cleaned up the Big Meter Silver Master pan graphic
- new screenshot
I probably won't be doing much more with this since I think it's reached the most compact state possible without sacrificing the character of White Tie's Imperial theme.
I may do a 'dark' version in the future, but it's not definite.

I think this looks awesome!
Is it possible to keep proportions of the "large" Imperial and use the buttons and colors from LCS?

It's not clear what you are asking for.
Do you want a:
- 'dark' version of my 'Imperial LCS-mod'?
- 'dark' version of the original Imperial theme?
- large version of the 'LCS Short Dark' mod?

It looks great.
My only observation is the size of the pan area. For me, pan is usually "set it and forget it", but it takes up even more room than the gain knob, and reduces room for things I always need access to.
If you get inspired to do another layout, I'd love one with a more minimal pan. A slider like the example below is definitely he way to go to conserve height, and I think it could still be made to look "classy". Maybe something like an analog VU meter where the needle controls the pan (the track name section already has that look and feel)...
Uses roughly 1/3 of the height:

Which layout are you trying to get more room on?
The RecARm layout already has the minimal pan.
If the big white RecArm button, Source switch and Pan knob are removed it reallytakes away from keeping the Imperial feel.
It also makes Dual Pan and Stereo Pan modes unavailable.
I may do another layout that ignores keeping the Imperial feel, the Gray buttons for FX and Bypass will be removed and the LED will serve as the button, like the Input FX LED.
The SRC, MON and REC would just be buttons. The Pan would be similar and function only in singlePan mode like the RecArm layout.
I would use the Mini layouts as a starting point.

folders
Hi,
downloaded some great themes. Thanks.
One of my favorite is "LCS-mod_Short_v1.6"
However, I can't seem to find the "folder" icon anywhere.
No idea how I can make a folder out of one of the tracks.
Thanks
ps: found out how to do it now

Sorry, I missed your earlier response. The things I wanted more access to were the FX and sends, the stub layout is perfect. Thanks!

there is no icon in imperial.
In the TCP there is a an LED Button on the left side of the track when in folder mode.
Folders are created by dragging and dropping.
drag a track/channel in the TCP up to what will be it's parent folder and when you get the blue lin, slide right until the blue line indents and let go.
You will then have green button on the parent and a yellow button on the last child track in the folder.
On the MCP you will have a green LED in the bottom right corner of the parent and a yellow LED in the bottom right corner of the last child track.

this really depends on what is needed for these layouts.
you will need to specify what elements each layout should have.
Pick an existing layout and specify what you want removed or added to make it a Bus, Aux or VCA layout.

Adding fader colors is a pretty simple mod.
unpack the the theme.
open the image folder for the theme and then the folder for the layout you want to add new fader colors to.
create a new subfolder in the fader folder for each new fder color and pout the new fader image in there:
ImageFolder/LayoutFolder/fader_blue/mcp_volthumb.png
add the code for the new fader color just before the layout's closing statement:
EndLayout
the code will like this:
Code:
Layout 'b01 - - Fader - Red' 'fader_red'

Thank you. I give it a try. I'm using Gimp instead of Photoshop, but I think I can create new fader button with right color.

I redownloaded these, don't remember exactly why I deleted them but now I am loving Dark Version 3. Don't know what changes you made to the original (in terms of how many) but thanks so much for sharing, be well.

I use Gimp, it works fine.
- copy the silver fader PNG to new folder for the intended color.
- open the copy in Gimp.
- select the actual fader only, leaving the shadow area and the pink lines unselected.
- click on ' COLORS' then select ' Colorize'.
- use the Hue slider to change the color.
- tweak with the Lightness and Saturation sliders, then save.
That's not way I actually do it, but it's the simplest way to get decent results quickly.

The Short Dark differences are mostly this:
- all MCP layouts are shorter
- MCP tops are black
- MCP layouts have no IO section on top.
See the change log on the download page for more details.

Colo Theme
Well done, Lucas! This is beatiful, awesome!
I just would like to know how to set the track color as you showed here:
https://stash.reaper.fm/27140/LCS-mo...tom-colors.png
I can't tint all the track skin with the same color at all...even using the Ctrl+E shortcut. Also the faders color...
Can you help me, please?
Thanks anyway for this wonderful work, man!

Thanks!
It's all based on White Tie's Imperial Theme, so props to him as well.

Hi Lucas!
I will do that, sure!
Well...I don't know if I really have an issue...maybe I just don't know how to do it. Can you post here a step by step guide line on how to change the color of the entire track plus the how to change fader knob color? Doing like that I will know if I got an issue or just needed education on that. I guess the problem is that I don't know how to do it.
Anyways, see what I got. Silver tracks and silver faders but I can't get an all purple tinted track with yeloow fader, for instance. Like you showed up before.
Thanks a lot for your attention, Lucas!

@Metallium6505
The color faders are only available for the black layouts.
b01 - - Fader Red
b02 - - Fader Yellow
The black layouts also take the color change the best and give and even hue over the entire track.
The Gray and Silver layouts will always be lighter in collor on the bottom section because the 'base' color is different from the top of the track.
If you want even color from top to bottom or if you want a color fader, you will need to use the black layout or the layouts I listed above.
If you are not getting any color when trying to color the tracks, then check the reaper settings under:
Options/Preferences/Appearance/Track Control Panels
make sure the following is checked:
Tint track panel backgrounds

Got it, Lucas! Many. many thanks!
I just wish to have more options on the fader color for the silver track layout. Silver + red, silver + black and so...We could make a default group and identify them just looking at the fader color.
Maybe in the future you can update it for us!!!
Many thanks...have a nice weekend!
