Melodyne Essential 4.2.2

Just starting with it and Reaper 5.979. I can tune vocals, but the vocal doesn't play back when the VST is enabled, along with the track.

No one? I have a project with a vocal track (and many others), I add Melodyne VST3 which looks to add itself correctly. ARA pulls my vocals in. Now when I play the track the vocals are silent. If I disable the FX, I hear them. What could this be? Driving me nuts.

You should upload a simple zipped REAPER project that contains just a Melodyne track and a sample vocal WAV file. I'll try to open it and see if the problem also exists on my my PC.

In my personal opinion, it's better to Right click on the vocal and open it up in Melodyne used as an external editor, make the changes to the vocal and then Replace to original vocal with the tuned vocal. Any way, that's how I use it.

I tried, but even a skeleton project was 12MB and apparently I can only attach like 1.5MB on this forum.

You don't have any account for google drive or ms onedrive or dropbox or similar?

If not use wetransfer.com.

you need to make it shareable to everyone... I can go to your db account but it wants me to sign in as you. The way to do this is make the file you want us to see shareable by creating a link to it, which drop box will help you do, then posting the link on here. Make sure you do it this way or everyone will be able to see everything in your DB account!

I've been in contact with Celemony over this problem. It's a bug. I'm guessing it started with the newest version of Melodyne Essential, because I used it with Reaper 4.78 for years without this problem.

This is verbatim from Celemony:

"If you want to work with Melodyne (ARA or Non-ARA Version) you need to set the Playback Slider Rate to 1.0. Otherwise it will not work. Another workaround could be to bounce all your files in the new tempo and then work with the new tempo if you don’t want to work at a slower tempo. Sorry that there is no other solution."

This seems lame to me. I have a lot of projects using Melodyne and I don't want to go back bounce tons of tracks, etc. As far as I'm concerned it's a bug and it should be fixed.

No one else is having issues with this? Melodyne breaks if your "project rate" is at any tempo but 1.0. If I'm understanding correctly, Melodyne's "workaround" is for me to reduce my rate from 1.09 to 1.0, record vocals, do my vocal tuning, export that track, increase the rate back to 1.09 and import the vocal track? So everytime I make an edit to my vocal track I have to go through this?!

Let me ask this way.... what's the difference between changing tempo and changing project rate?

I have this problem sometimes. I would just remove the effect and add it back again. Drives me nuts and it's so inconsistent. Can't quite appreciate the benefits that ARA brings, at this point anyway...

Not sure what the difference is exactly between changing rate and changing tempo, but I was able to just change the tempo and Melodyne works fine.
