Default Moonchild23

First song I've made with reaper and second song I finished in general. Curious about any opinions and how to improve the mix. Thanks a lot. What style does it match most?

I like the use of the historical clips to voice the moon shot references.

It's hard to keep the ear interested with instrumentals. Maybe add a splash of melody here and there? The thing I noticed most was the "wall of sound" effect creeping in, which is another way to say I miss the dynamics in the mix. It makes it sound sequenced, where as it might sound different if humans were playing all the parts.

hard to explain. You have a good start.

Thanks for your comment. I try to improve the mix with a bit more reverb and some compression. Loosing dynamics is a good point and maybe I'll add some volume automation too.

This sounds straight from the 80s. I feel I just time traveled. I'd reconsider the "more reverb" option you mentioned. I think right now you have just the right amount before slipping into the 'too much' zone. The vol automation sounds like your best bet.

Thanks. I improved the mix a bit, have to make it a little bit louder though:

Yeah, I like this a LOT! Right up my alley. Heavy 80's Krautrock influence, but with some of the modern NewRetroWave (which I'm also a big fan of).

The little "sound FX" synths that come in and disappear are very cool.

Thanks a LOT also ...

I watched that video here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wt0Dp-YPCJs) and applied the plugins to the master. It improved a lot and I´ll upload the final version later. I also replaced the kick with a more aggressive one. It´s funny how different people classify the style:

1. Dance, Electro, Cosmic, IDM and Italo Disco.Reminds of Model 500, Jean Michael Jarre, Hipnosis or Aphex Twin
2. Depeche Mode
3. EBM, Nitzer Ebb, Front Line Assembly
4. Stranger Things Soundtrack
5. Heavy 80's Krautrock influence
...just to name a few ...

Haha, I've used those samples in songs before too. Nice track. Better than my second track for sure.

Thanks. Definitely have to check your stuff tomorrow. What I heard is awesome! What are your influences beside MOONDOG?

And thanks to you as well! Good to see someone still remembers Moondog... I wouldn't necessarily call him an influence tho, as most of mine are metal. Enya (and mj) got me out of pure metal mode and Ninja Tunes (record label) and its artists got me into electronic music.
