CPU spiking ... denormals?

3 tracks, 1 or 2 plugs on each. 3 plugs on MF(mainly JS).

Cpu is under 2% during playback but spikes at the end of the track, which locks the screen for about 10 secs.

I have reduce denorm. selected and windows task manager spikes as well. I tried resetting the config and disabled a bunch of stuff, no good. Any suggestions?

Try those (attached). One is adding DC the other is snapping the denormals (higher CPU, tho).

ah I see parametric_eq is one of them, this probably needs to be fixed.. any other FX that do it?

...checked out the other JS plugs, some spike and some double(approx.) their cpu use when not recieving signal.

Spike cpu- parametric_eq, lowpass, resonant lowpass, sweeping lowpass, 3*3, 4*4, louderizer_lpf.

Double cpu- Majortom, Mastertom, 1175, eventhorizon, expressbus, fairlychildish.

When i had "always run fx" ticked it was making things alot worse, so thats off now.

I love the JS plugs, so hope these can be fixed as well. What about an option to "automatically bypass FX that arent recieving signal", like autoblanking on a dither.

...im going to have to stop using my favourite JS plugs as i do now.

If ive got some of these JS plugs on the Master Fader and arm an empty track with monitoring off when stopped....instant 100% cpu spike that doesnt go away till unarming the track.

I dont understand why this is happening on an empty track if im not monioring through REAPER, the MF FX arent processing the input and there are no items or FX on the track to "compensate".

Maybe JS needs an internal update to better handle denormal issues (and latency when reqd.)?
