Default Quick Script to Focus Fx by Name?

Hi guys, can someone help me please? I've finally got TouchOSC working with my default track EQ with feedback via the MIDI bridge and Smart Knobs script (flipping awesome! ). Only one thing is missing...

The plugin needs to be focused in the chain or floating for this to update automatically when switching tracks (which is my ultimate goal). Would someone mind writing me some code to focus the plugin in a selected track's fx chain starting with "EQ" in the name?

I just need a script to make sure the EQ gets focus when changing tracks (I'll add the script to a custom action) without floating the GUI or changing what plugins are currently floating. The EQ name changes, as I might be using different EQ's per track, but always starts with "EQ."

Thanks for any help.

Hey thanks Edgemeal! Yea it's focussing the EQ just fine, but is there a way to do that without opening any windows? It opens the fx chain and the EQ window, which is what I need to avoid since I'll see the new EQ on my tablet.

My TouchOSC setup just depends on the EQ being selected in the chain for it to update when switching tracks, but I don't want the windows in Reaper to change at all when the script runs.

Sorry if I'm being confusing.

I'm also not exactly sure if it will work, or if Smart Knobs needs the fx floating in order to "see it."

I don't think there is any API to only set a FX as the last-touched / focused FX?

Ah, well that's a shame. Thanks for your help tho, Edgemeal. And sorry I didn't explain clearly the first time. I'll try asking again on the Smart Knob thread if it can send updates when changing track instead of only when floating fx.

Hey fox,

Sorry - I haven't meant to ignore your request on the Smart Knobs page - I've just been pretty busy lately.

I'll take a look again when I get a bit of time.
