I have been looking at js more lately. There is so much potential there, for anyone who can get over the humps involved in writing js effects and wrap their head around the math for writing more sophisticated stuff.

I'm just glad everything I want for plugins (and more) is already covered without having to use some sort of bridge, or Jack.

How did you get DrumGizmo working?
I see it in the list VST/VSTi Plugins For Linux
http://linux-sound.org/linux-vst-plugins.html

But their instructions tell that "Compiling and Installing on linux (LV2 only)"
and when I configure --enable-vst - build fails.

I am not yet running Linux. My first step is to test an audio device which should work with Linux. That has not arrived yet. In the meantime I have been going through my software and making sure that something compatible exists in Linux.

I have noticed in the kxstudio Repository that drum Gizmo is shown also as a native Linux VST. Perhaps if you install it that way? That was my plan anyway.

Update - I was wrong, somehow drumgizmo appeared in Reaper as drumgizmo_vst! Thanks!

I tried it, unfortunately it seems to be only lv2 there.
Here is a list of all files installed by the package, if I understand all correctly.

>apt-file list drumgizmo
drumgizmo: /usr/bin/drumgizmo
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/input/dummy.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/input/jackmidi.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/input/midifile.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/input/test.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/output/alsa.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/output/dummy.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/output/jackaudio.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/drumgizmo/output/wavfile.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/lv2/drumgizmo.lv2/drumgizmo.so
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/lv2/drumgizmo.lv2/drumgizmo.ttl
drumgizmo: /usr/lib/lv2/drumgizmo.lv2/manifest.ttl
drumgizmo: /usr/share/doc/drumgizmo/README.Debian
drumgizmo: /usr/share/doc/drumgizmo/changelog.Debian.gz
drumgizmo: /usr/share/doc/drumgizmo/copyright
drumgizmo: /usr/share/man/man1/drumgizmo.1.gz

Good luck with your Linux build For me, most of the things work well now.

Default Linux Studio Plugins Project

Under Linux Mint, plugins from http://lsp-plug.in/ work only copied in one of the directories:

The usual directories for LinuxVST are:
* /usr/lib/vst
* /usr/local/lib/vst
* /usr/lib64/vst
* /usr/local/lib64/vst

In other cases, there is an error about "can't find VST core".
For VST version look here
https://sourceforge.net/projects/lsp...s/lsp-plugins/

lsp-plugins-lxvst-1.1.2-x86_64.tar.gz (last version currently)

There were problems in case of ~/.vst, ~/.vst3 - but it can be only my case as I have a lot of other things in this directories and change a lot on the fly.

It is possible to build a linuxsampler plugin in vst format, kxstudio provides it.

You can also use carla instead if that's easier, it acts as a front end for linuxsampler (as far as I understand it).

You can use CARLA from KXStudio to load SFZ or SF2 files. It uses linuxsampler. But it's not working perfectly (looses the SFZ files when starting Reaper, etc.). The problem here is Linuxsampler not Carla.
