Default Snap To Grid still Bugged?

IS there a way to make snap to grid always snap to grid? Why is this so buggy still? There needs to be a God force to grid mode. At this point, If someone
Hacks reaper and forces proper grid snapping... little elves will pop out of your screen and start punching you because the secrets of the universe must be locked behind this poor working snap that doesn't snap. Why else could this not be fixed yet? If the snap always snaps the world may be doomed.

I digress, but do these settings look ok in the pic I uploaded??

I should also mention I'm on ver. 5.80
Any help in providing a permanent fix would be greatly appreciated.

I would probably reduce your snap distance to around 40-50 ?
Snapping to other nearby items is quite useful set to 0 tracks or 1.
Using the same grid division for the midi editor is a good shout.
Other than that it looks ok for general use.
