Default is it possible to make reaper process FX chain twice?

here's simplified scenario.
there are 2 tracks A and B
A contains only VST (say sampletank)
B contains midi items
routing is as follows:
B sends midi events to A and recieves back audio (i disabled loopback protection)
when i put some midi related FX on B (reacontrol midi or something like that)
everything works without problem, also i have control over volume with Bs volume slider. that way i don't need separate tracks for audio and limit clutter for bigger projects.
but i would also be able to use B FX chain to automate audio coming back from A
it doesn't work. Is it at all posible to allow that?
what i want is this:

B sends it's midi data to FX chain, - only midi stuff gets processed.
B sends everything to A
A renders audio and sends back to B
B sends audio through FX chain - only audio stuff gets processed
B sends audio to master

Why not just split B into the MIDI and Audio portions on separate tracks?

In case you're using the same audio FX chain for multiple Tracks: what about putting the Audio FX after the VST on Track A ?

Track B: MIDI Data > MIDI FX --> Track A: VST > AUDIO FX --> Track X or MASTER

If you're planning on using different Audio FX chains per Track, I'd say doing the straightforward approach with using separate Tracks for Audio FX and MIDI FX is the way to go. If necessary, you can minimize the Tracks which take up too much space. Or hide them from the TCP/MCP (via View > Track Manager).

Not sure if what you want to do is possible. But maybe using different Plugin Pin Connectors might be an option?: www.youtube.com/watch?v=NIhFXvkB120

Assuming the VSTi on Track A is NOT a multitimbral synth where there are actually a bunch of "Track Bs ", you only need one track. Put the MIDI FX before the synth and the audio FX after. Done. You wanna save tracks, so why are you wasting one AND setting up a feedback loop which will break PDC and could have unpredictable effects?

But OK, fine. It can work as you describe it. You have to make sure you're not actually making a feedback loop. The send from B>A should be MIDI only (audio none) and back from A>B should be audio only (MIDI disabled). Then it really should just plain work. Like, you said it was working, and I can't figure out why adding an audio plug on Track B should make it stop working unless that plug is eating/blocking MIDI for some reason. We have ways to get around that, though.

ok i guess either i'm retarded and did something really stupid or latest reaper update i just installed did the trick. now it works as i wanted.
Now i can have both outgoing midi fx and their automation and receiving audio fx and its automation on the same track
