Default Reaper License v5 and v6

I use both v5.99 and V6 (latest ver) for compatibility reasons. Are there 2 different licenses? If so they are named the same and I can see the 2 different dated ones. How does V5 and V6 see them and yes I'm a bit confused...???
Thanks ahead for your kind help.

It is the same licence file. Each licence is good for 2 major versions.

So if you bought a licence for v5.nnn it will be OK for all versions up to to v6.999 (or whatever the last v6 is). TO use v7.00 onwards you will need a new licence.

For info, v4 releases covered August, 2011 to May, 2015 and v5 from August,2015 to November, 2019. And, of course, the appropriate licences still work with of those versions.
