Default Render and playback cuts off beginning of short sample

Hi everyone!

Apologies if this was already covered somewhere, I did search for an answer, but couldn't one that would solve my problem.

I am working on a game and was designing some UI sounds which are very short. The thing is that if I set the cursor on the exact beginning of my samples and press the space bar, Reaper sort of 'cuts out' or fades the transient and the sound comes out sounding wrong. If I move the cursor back a couple of milliseconds then the problem disappears and it sounds as intended.

I was using regions to render out the samples and the same thing happens, if the region begins exactly at the beginning of the sample, again the transient gets affected. If I pull the region start back a bit, then it's fine.

Just to make it clearer I've uploaded some screens https://ibb.co/R4x7j8y

Any help of direction to where this was already covered would be very appreciated!

Thanks a lot!

tiny fade in on playback start (Options:Preferences: Audio)

Also, check the items for fade-ins. I can see you have some.
