OSX 10.13.2
Tyrell VSTi v 3.03
Reaper 5.71pre4a

- Midi Item, driving Tyrell VSTi, the Midi item is played, with Transport-Repeat ON.
- Now, Execute the Action "Item: Duplicate Item"

Outcome: instant note hangs in Tyrell VSTi.

Someone can confirm this on OSX ?

Might be handy to have a dedicated checkbox for this in preferences - "invert accents for track background", so it won't be needed to adjust each used theme manually for everybody. Same for the MIDI editor.

I suppose 4 independent colors would solve the issue.

+1 to this and to the optional measure for the patterns (1, 2, 3, 4 bars, etc)

Not colors, but global tinting level in range -5 - +5.

It DOES invert colors as is. You just need to have them defined so they're somewhat different. The no-track arrange area is a separate color which is a new one.

Both horizontal and vertical line accents. No need to use 4 different colors.
Just a single parameter for odd H lines and another one for odd V lines in both arrange and midi editor. The cross lined checkers should blend naturally.
If you're confused by the word "tinting", you may use words like "opacity", "contrast", "gamma" or "saturation", instead.

As far as I can see, all of the examples here, featuring different themes, follow the same path: accents become BW, figuratively, for no-track and WB for track lanes.

vitalker's example above is perfect. This is the way it should look like.

But theme uses colors for that... What colors should it use then?
What lines are you speaking about?
No, I'm not confused by this word at all.

I'm finding that if the Arrange View Vertical Grid Shading is lighter than the Track Background color(s), it will be the inverse (WB/BW)... but if it's darker than the Track Background color(s) is will maintain the same alternating pattern (WB/WB):

Maybe an occasion to fix similar ME grid bug too ? (not a regression)

How does this work? I spose I could download and try it, but... Did it just revert to what was mentioned in the thread where parent send is turned off for the new children and they send directly to the master?

It's just an example. It would be useful, when we could edit all these colors.

What colors are they using now for coloring odd and even measure lines in no-track area, when the checkbox is set?

This would only be visible if the item names are displayed above the items, like in your setup.

If we're talking tinting...

Please add option for Tint Selected Track in arranger. The TCP is already tinted when you select a track - can the entire track horizontally into the arrangement be tinted?

With 4K monitors and a billion tracks, dragging a sample into the arrangement is currently a guessing game.

I have narrowed it down to this atached project. I used ReaFIR only so it's self-contained.
The problem is much more present when using multiple kinds of VST plugins.

Now that i removed most of the tracks and plugins, it's a bit harder to freeze Reaper, but it can be done in less then 30 seconds.

I have a shortcut key for "Go to start of loop" and i press play and just spam the key. Literally just holding it down so Reaper retriggers the start of the loop, so the crash occurs faster. It usually freezes here in 6-8 seconds. But it freezes every time.

Record should be ON for the MIDI titled channel.

WIN10 64bit

Addendum:
The tracks don't have to be in a folder either.
Thanks, duplicated, working on a fix now (but it's tricky).

No issue here on OSX 10.11.6.

Edit : I noticed a micro audio glitch when cmd+D : duplicate item.

That's a good news.
Spoke to fast.
Still happens but more frequently if loop if less than 2 bars.
