Getting Reaper to see VLC
Hi all.
I've got the latest build of Reaper and the latest build of VLC installed on a Win10/64 system. However, under Prefs/Video/Show video decoder info, I see this: ========== VLC ========== VLC install path not found, install VLC 2.1.x-3.0.x Search paths: C:\Program Files\REAPER (x64)\VLC Why on earth would Reaper expect to find VLC inside the Reaper folder? And why can't I tell it that VLC lives elsewhere in the filesystem? Maybe I can but don't know how. As you can guess, I'm currently having no luck whatsoever getting video to play in Reaper, and I'm wondering if anyone has any clues as to what I'm missing, please? I've tried changing the Output to all of the various DirectShow options, but no luck so far. Thanks in advance!

Gah.
Turns out, I had the 32 bit version of VLC, NOT the 64 bit version. Sorry one and all! As you were...
