Recording MIDI from soundcard

hi everybody,

i am looking for a way to record the internal midi-stream coming to soundcard from a midi-drum-programm at the same laptop (the program itself cannot export midi-files).

has anybody an idea, if reaper can record this stream? i tried forced midi input, but still audio from the soundcard is recorded.

since the soundcard plays drums, there must be a readable midi stream.

or does anybody now a sort of "midi-ripper" ? i could not find any in the internet.

Not necessarily. I guess depends on hopw it's programmed....but whatever it's doing is surely internal to the programme.....the drums aren't in the soundcard, they're in the programme right?

hi, no, this program sends midi-messages via channel 10 to the soundcard, so i would like to cpature this midi-stream somewhere before it arrives on the soundcard...

Oh....so it's playing windows gm synth.

Can probably be done with a virtual midi cable software like Loopbe....and if the output from software isn't available then you'll maybe also need Coolsoft midimapper to assign it.
