Default Lyrics video?

I'm faced with the prospect of adding lyrics to a long music video which has 12 verses and LOTS of words. The prospect of cobbling all of that together into 4 lines per verse and 12 verses doesn't appeal to me at all, and I got to wondering if there's a paid version of a lyrics plugin for Reaper?

If I use Kenny's method in this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mXP86rmS8YM

I'll be making 48 separate MIDI items. It seems like there should be a way to simply add the entire TXT of the lyrics to a single window and define the scrolling rate to have it scroll up revealing some predetermined number of lines at a time.

If there's not something like that... is something like that possible to make?

I think I might be looking down the wrong road. I wonder if there's a video utility out there that I can use after the Reaper video is finished and rendered, that will superimpose the lyrics over the existing video?

Will start looking down that road.

I guess what you want is a tool that lets you "burn" srt into the video. Google "burn srt video".

There is a lyrics.lua script with Reaper and a modified one here
https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=224257
you can screen capture the lyrics screen then chroma key the background out.

Not sure if this version of Karafun had the editor ?

Hi

Surprisingly you can generate transparent background video and/or slides in PowerPoint that you can later import as a top track with "Overlay: image" preset in your reaper project. If I remember well the resolution wasn't so great but you may be able to tweak ppt's output quality.

totally doable. Do you have my text generator? I can show you how to modify it.

Thanks for the feedback folks, and sorry for the delay. Had been under the weather for a few days.

I ended up coming up with what I think is a rather efficient method for displaying LOTS of lyrics, whithout dominating the screen. See attached.

I created two empty tracks and on the first one I added an empty MIDI item. On that MIDI item I added two video processors. A Text overlay and Item fades affect video.

On the text overlay I edited the #text= line to contain carriage returns and two lines of lyrics. Like so...

Code:
#text="

A hulk of a man with a beer in his hand
He looked like a drunk old fool

"; // set to string to override
That made it easy to clone and paste over the two lines of text.

I faded it in and out appropriately and then added Y position scroll envelope and moved the envelope to the media lane.

Then all I had to do was CTL-Drag clone to create new items, pasting the proper lyrics into each new item. Each of the 48 or so lyric lines took me just a few seconds once I had the first one properly set.

Here's what it ended up looking like.

Thanks. It's a LOT of lyrics, and needed the lyrics on screen. Bobby Bare tells a funny story, but he can be long winded.

Good day, gentlemen. I'm in dire need of help. I'm a growing artist that draws inspiration from a variety of sources, and I'm currently studying lyrics for songwriting, but I want to grasp it fully. I'm hoping to hear from an agency of songwriters for hire shortly, so I'll have to provide them several samples, therefore I'm requesting you all to suggest several decent songwriting publications and courses so that I can produce a better outcome.
