Default Jumpy video frames when rendering to MOV

Been playing around with video editing in Reaper a lot lately, but having some oddities when rendering. Hoping someone can help me figure out the settings I should be using or where the issues might be coming from, as I'm no video encoding/format/codec/whatever expert.

If you check out this video: https://vimeo.com/120085196#t=6m15s

...you'll notice there's like quick flashes of future frames happening which makes for a really jumpy/crappy viewing experience.

Here's the settings I'm using to render:

...and here's the info on the source video:

The video is just a screencast recorded with Quicktime in OSX.

I've attached the project file as well in case the problem is the way I'm editing the video. It's just a few crossfades and slipped around item source.

Another question I have, the original source video is only 165mb, but the render is 277mb. Any advice on how to configure things to not balloon the file size on render?

Any help would be appreciated!

Justin recommended trying the AVFoundation encoder, rendered flawlessly with a smaller file size in a fraction of the time

So, advice for any other video noobs on OSX like me, the AVFoundation encoder should be your go-to! This is the "right" one to use for rendering mov/aac on OSX I've been told

What about for windows? I've had similar issues recently myself.

Windows users should render to an intermediate format and then use Handbrake.

Justin, perhaps you could support the Debugmode Frameserver. A lot of Vegas users prefer that. Dunno if it's possible.
