Default Analogue Drums - V-Drum Demos

Hey guys,

No really sure where to post this (or if even kosher) so Mods please move or remove as needed.

New V-Drum demos from the latest batch of Analogue Drum samples are online!!
I recorded these samples again at York Street Recording Studios in NZ for the Analogue Drum guys (and graded these videos for them). Check them out!

No need to rush. Monotown and Gorilla have been listed on the Analogue Drums site as "coming soon" since around the end of November 2011.

Editing, mapping and scripting takes forever :P

You can't curb my enthusiasm.

Captainhook, nice playing, and that kit looks like it works very well. The samples sound good, too.

As I mentioned above, I've got both Kingpin and Plastique. I ended up splitting all the parts and making separate instruments out of them in Kontackt. Then I wrote scripts for them for all the mics. It made a huge difference in getting the most out of them.

Thanks, that's Stan Bicknell playing and was filmed in Melbourne. (I live in NZ)
Beyond recording the samples i don't have much to do with the company except that they're good friends of mine.

Have you shared with the AnalogueDrum guys or on their forum? I'm sure they'd appreciate it if not. I should get Mike or Dylan to join here. I'm getting Mike closer and closer to converting to Reaper from PT (like i did) every time we talk.

Hi Captain,

Actually I didn't realize there was a forum. I did tell Dylan what I intended to do with them in an email, but that was before I finished them. I'll have to check out the forum. The samples are great. May I ask which one of the team is the script writer?

Humm, it looks like forum registration is down right now.

Heh heh, would you believe, the firt post I opened there was a request for exactly what I've done with them.

Quote:
my opinion, when you load for example the "Rockstock Close" in kontakt, it opens only 1 instrument with all the samples in.

it would be great to have individual element instruments (kick, snare, tom1, tom2,..., cymbals) to can have all the elements in different tracks for mix.

possible?
Hopefully they'll get the forum straightened out soon.

Hi, I'm Mike one half of the Analogue Drums development team. Thanks for all the comments so far.
As Robo has correctly stated mapping and scripting takes forever but we're in the final stages of testing now and both kits are sounding (cheers Hook) and functioning brilliantly!

If you've used any of our previous kits you'll notice a big change in the way the new kits are mapped. First and formost we wanted our maps to be as compatible as possible with the prethora of other drum libraries that are out there. Monotown, Gorilla, Plastique and Kingpin all conform to GM and in most cases to Libraries from the big guys - SSD, Superior etc.
We've also upgraded the scripts with a huge improvement being made to the hihat functionality.
Along with the release of Monotown and Gorilla we'll also be rereleasing (a free upgrade for current owners) Plastique and Kingpin with the updated maps, scripts and all new cleaner less noisy samples.

In addition to the maps - Stereo keyboard, Multi-out keyboard, eKit and multi-out ekit we're also including Slate trigger maps for each kit.

This is a big release for us and we can't wait to get it out.. if you have any questions I'll do my best to answer them.

Cheers and thanks Hook for starting this thread!

For anyone who is new to Analogue Drums, you can get a similar arrangement as Tod's for the older Tape Series 1 kits from the forum here > http://www.analoguedrums.com/talk/vi...php?f=13&t=425
They were scripted and posted by an AD forum member and they work very well, with control over direct, room, volume, pan etc. If you're not up on scripting (that'll include me at the top of the list) it's easy, with a minimum of thinking, to substitute different kit pieces and get the kit you like best (i.e. I love the Big Mono kick and snare but I like Rockstock's toms better). You can also *ahem* use other peoples samples with the scripts, but I won't mention that.

MikeT,

You guys should consider rounding out your kit libraries with IRs of that awesome recording space

Pop a balloon or starter pistol in there and record it if that's as high tech as you want to get... You can also run sine sweeps through a decent monitor and deconvolve your recorded response in reaverb or something like Voxengo Deconvolver, etc.

Huge fan of analogue drums' samples, their fair pricing, the fact that the samples aren't tied up in a giant annoying encrypted DRM monolith... true gents. It sounds great and all feels very 'Reaper ethos'.

I plan to do this and remember it being mentioned here before. Mike lives in Australia and Dylan in Wellington, where as i live literally a 10 minute walk from York St Studios and still have a key and a few favours owed to me for still visiting and sorting out computer issues for them as they happen.

The studio is fully booked for the next month but will try for after that. I just need to do some research on the best way to do it. I'm thinking Reaverb but we'll see.

Do you want to hear Analogue Drums with your midi file? Mike or Dylan might be better to do that. I'll ask them if so.

So these scripts work with Popsticks too? I've got Popsticks and those have been collecting dust for some reason

EDIT: Downloaded the package from AD forum. Yeah, there's Posticks in it!!!

Those V-Drums are just so cool... Too bad I saved in a wrong place/moment and bought a cheaper Millenium-kit
