it happens only when SWS's extension is installed...
when I move the dll out of the folder, it doesn't crash.
EDIT: after I've added reaper_xenakios_commands.dll too, it doesn't crash...
do these extensions meant to work together?
EDIT 2: I've no idea wtf was that...if I will reproduce it, I will let you know...

No, they are coded by 2 different people: sws and Xenakios. That happened to me sometime ago and then one day dissapeared, I never found a way to know what was the cause, hence my question. Have you recently imported a .KeyMap? Any MIDI assignment?

crash/no crash:
1.Installed the sws for the first time (nothing else), tried 3 times to watch the alternate recording and crashed... = CRASH
2.I took the file out of the folder = NO CRASH.
3. I've installed the xenakios (for the first time) and added the sws again = NO CRASH.
4. I tried to reproduce the crash, by removing the xenakios extension, but it doesn't crash anymore.
kinda weird...
(haven't done any midi assignment and I didn't import any keymap recently.)

SWS selected item states to copy time ranges
Just wondering if it would be possible to modify the "SWS: Save selected tracks selected item states" to just saving a selected item's state irrespective of the track its on. I am making a custom action to copy and paste items within a time selection , including the time selection, using this command and this is the last stumbling block. Basically I am trying to make a work around to copy and paste time ranges. Using item saved states I can select items in a range, insert an empty midi event at the beginning of the range (empty audio events crash Reaper with this command for me), save the midi items selected state, then select all items in the range on selected tracks, including the midi item as a marker, copy them, recall the tracks item save state, delete the original midi item, and then paste all of the items where I want on the same tracks. Then by recalling the selected tracks item states again I can automatically select the pasted midi item, and delete it all in one custom action leaving the pasted items in their respective time positions. This works perfectly as long as you intend to copy items to the same tracks, However the limitation comes when you want to paste to new tracks or other existing tracks. Because the SWS command links the item state to the track its on it will not remember its selected state between tracks and the midi item wont be deleted. Let me know if this makes any sense at all or is even doable. Thanks.

Have you tried using Item: Copy portions of items in time selection? This copy portions of items and if it's necessary it keeps their relative position as well. Maybe that can do the trick, not sure tho.

Hey guys, it's been awhile since I've posted here.
In case you haven't been keeping up, there's been a few new features added to the SWS extension in the last month. Today I released v1.2.3; you can read about it in the What's New section of my site.
Here's the abridged changelog so you don't have to click the link if you don't want to
======================
ReaConsole features:
Add new command 'f' to set FX enables
Add '!' to invert track selection
Ctrl-Enter to run command now leaves window open
New actions:
Select muted tracks/items
Select tracks with active routing to selected tracks
Select locked items
Master FX enable save/restore/enable/disable
Select/unselect/toggle master track
Save/restore selected items (Saved with project!)
Toggle zoom to sel tracks(s) + time sel, minimize others
Toggle zoom to sel items(s), hide other tracks
Other changes:
In marker list, can now select region as a time selection with double click (dbl click on name still renames)
Increased performance of the zoom functions when using FX envelopes in lanes
A few bug fixes

Thanks for this, I'm in your debt!
As soon as I get some money cleared up I'll be donating!
(as EVERYONE who uses this should)
it really doubles the program for my type of work!
thanks again!

Just trying out the new commands,
Your new hide and zoom works super smoothly but is there any way to get the tracks to hide in the mixer too or would this have to be another sws command? I guess I could rumble a custom action up but don't think I could make it toggle able. will try though!
The only thing I have found with all the zooms is that if a folder's child tracks are in "small" mode (so not able to be adapted vertically by dragging) then they will not zoom in, anyway you can think of to detect this and get around it

That new hide zoom command has made my day!!
Ok last post for tonight!
Just excited about some possibilities!
Would it be possible in the track list filter section to have an additional tick box to allow it to "hide" the tracks matching the input text instead of "showing them"
I know that sounds crazy but it would allow us to completely hide disabled tracks (without archiving them) simply by renaming them something like "(A)" and then inputting this into the filter, these tracks are completely in-accessible then, I know it's not perfect and stops you being able to use the filter for other things (without a bit of messing around) but it could be good for a few other things too.
thanks,

about the 'paste repeat' action: It will work better for me if the cursor will get back to where it was before the 'paste repeat' action.
from my experience, I always need to move the cursor back after repeating.
(I couldnt find away to create a custom action to do that, so I hope it is possible from your side)
currently it works like this:

aww... the paste repeat action is from xena's extensions.
however, sws, if I understood correctly, you will manage xenakios extensions from now on?

@Reflected:
Simply build a macro with this action and put "Store edit cursor position" at the beginning and "Recall edit cursor position" at the end.

im not getting the snapshots to save any plugin after 'allocator light'
http://www.thuneau.com/alloclite.htm
the said crossover plugin will load, but nothing after it.
then, when i save a project, it looks like snapshots are stored in the project, and they arent global to another project. (thatd be nice too tho), but:
saving the snapshot with the project is causing a parsing error in the project on next load.
i assume its because the snapshot fails before it gets thourgh all the allocator light parameters?
its my only issue with snapshots i think its just my plugin?

Snapshots have had a huge UP lately. And a related feature twix.
4 or so builds in about 1 week from SWS. Hey, that reminds me of a fav inspiring song:
"100 times 5 dollar love" :--)0)
*cough* see billsboard mystery button , bottom right, here: http://www.standingwaterstudios.com/
UNLIMITED SNAPSHOTS:
So: the UP is that there's the 12 snapshots you see in actions and now the ability to create an unlimited number of them as in, 'dynamically alocated'. And, WHEN you create another snapshot in the snapshot window, (anything above snapshot number 12) you will then find it in the actions window. ID and all!
The twix, of um, a feature) ::: We're able to hold down the control key and click on any snapshot, right.
ctrl-click the snapshot you're on updates it,
OR
ctrl-click on another snapshot to copy same data to, other snapshot!
HUGELY useful for organizing/creating tons of SShots.
AWWWWWSOMMMEEEEE!!

SWS, just noticed you added the bullet symbol in the Track List. A big +1 for that! Easier to locate stuff quickly now that everything lines up. Funny how these little details make a big difference.
Thanks a million!

wishlist for the tracklist:
- folder tracks are designated somehow (bold letters? symbol?)
- an option to auto-select all child-tracks upon selecting a folder track
(I wish to be able to hide/show folder tracks and their child-tracks in one go)
thanks!

snapshots are still dismally failing with me, im guessing its the plugins i use? its happening with bluecat dynamics, nuquist eq and.. free g volume?
save a snapshot with just free g, 1 reaeq and 1 nyquist eq, change a setting on the channel, click on snapshot and it wont recall. mabe i click around, save another chennel or 2 and finally i come back and itll recall...
the dismal crash happens sometime in between, too haphazard to reproduce for science yet...

The first one... I put track icons on the folders, not automatic but it works. These are great for exactly this: http://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=44977
The second one... surely a custom macro can do this... SWS:Select children of selected folder track(s). Put it on the right-click menu, and select away...

Ah! Sorry.
Anyways, it got me to implement the select children command on my own track right-click menu, and that's good

Media Pool is AWESOME
SWS
Just posting here to say how much i'm enjoying the SWS media pool. So so nice to be able to put files into bins which span multiple projects.
Really great. I'm really looking forwards to playback, as i've forgotten what some of the stuff in my bins is now, but, oh well, it's a good tool anyway.
Thank you.

A simple question:
Does SWS.Snapshots extension also support saving and later recalling for each track the active take, if there are multiple takes available? e.g. I would like to use for each track 64 takes.
Then it would be cool to be able to use following actions:
0. switching to any take
1. storing current take combinations in any track also in the snapshot
2. recalling previously stored snapshot states, including the active takes
And most importantly controlling all the actions above via midi and assigning pitch events to them on a given midi port, then midi channel, then pitch value.
Interesting with this idea would be following:
Having a "takes list" showing only the names of all takes in the current selected track. This takes list window would allow you to see immediately for the current track how many takes are available in that track, without having to use the mouse.

try it!
i use it to take snapshots (unsuccessfully) of mixer channels, but i wouldnt want it to touch the track data! thatd have to be a separate checkbox in the sws dialogue theres no option for saving track wav or midi data on there.
also the snapshots currently delete sends on a track (not always but in normal use always) upon recall! mabe theyll work on it more, but i think we need to pay them! (theres no direct correlation between donating and getting a feature working necessarily though).

Thanks!!
Just wanted to give a huge THANKS to SWS/Xenakios for this extension. The Project Management / Project Tabs options/actions have improved my rendering Nebula tracks workflow immensely. I now keep an archived project tab with rendered files behind every project. It makes for a cleaner interface and helps with organization. It also allows me to offline fx in the main project.
Thanks again for all of your hard work on this great extension!!
