Pro-53 bank reset

I've recommended REAPER to my fellow musician, and when he said it doesn't work with Native Instruments Pro-53, i couldn't believe it since i never ran into any problems with REAPER.

To prove i'm wrong, he loaded a test track and applied Pro-53 to one of the MIDI channels. Then he chose another bank, pressed play - and voila! the bank was reset to default. No matter how we tried we couldn't get it to keep the patch, always resetting to default. I don't have this plug-in so i can't test it myself, but i saw what i saw.

Any ideas?

I was pretty sure it wasn't a REAPER issue, so i did a little more research while using his machine (quad core... wish i had this!) and found out that it's actually his mistake! There was a "Program" CC marker in the beginning of his MIDI file, and that's why Pro-53 always reset to default patch.
