Default Midi channel rooting conversion?

Hi everyone hope you're all doing well and staying safe. I'm having a midi channel routing issue I'm hoping you can help me with. I have an input device which is transmitting on one channel I need to take the notes from that channel and send them to another MIDI channel is there a JS plug-in that could possibly do this? Or is there another way of doing this? Your help with this problem would be most welcome thanks for your help respect and blessings Trey.

In the MIDI input options, you can map incoming MIDI from your keyboard to a particular channel. I do this all the time, so that I can leave my keyboard on channel 1, but record it on whatever channel I want to use for a particular track.

I'm not sure how it shows up using a screen reader, but I get to that option by right-clicking on the record-arm button, then selecting "Input: MIDI", and at the bottom of that menu is a sub-menu for "Map input to channel". You can choose to map the incoming MIDI to any channel.

EDIT: There are actions to do this channel mapping. It might be easier for you to call the desired mapping action directly, rather than selecting them through the record-arm menu as I suggested above. The actions are named "Map selected tracks MIDI input to channel X", where X is the MIDI channel. There is also an action to undo any mapping, called "Map selected tracks MIDI input to source channel". I use these actions so frequently, that I set up a toolbar with just those 17 actions, so that I can quickly change the input channel for any MIDI track. You might find that useful, or perhaps find it useful to assign shortcut keys to these actions.
