Snapshot automation

Ok.......as expected we have an incredible Reaper user base full of exceptional individuals.

In SWS there is a snapshot capability with 99% of everything i need. I do not know who developed it but it is what I am looking for.....the 1% I need now is the ability to set a cross-fade in .1 sec increments.

Any idea who developed it and how we can add cross-fade?

Changing the name of this thread......automation is the wrong description. This is more snapshot cross-fade vs. automation..

Callout to developers.

Looking for the level of effort to develop snapshot transition cross-fade. I am developing a requirements document that I will post here shortly.

Looking for level of effort to develop and level of interest from the community.

The target is for live use.


Requirements doc will be posted shortly.

Phased approach:

Phase I will be simple cross fade between snapshots.
1. Switches will be on/off state
2. Faders, pans, sends will be relative

Phase II will add plug-in functionality to match phase I.

I tried SWS Snapshots early on, couldn't get clean patch/track/preset changes without leaving all tracks unmuted, which ate CPU.

I use MidiFadeX for this, tweaking the script to give a 2 sec fade time (let tails fade) and a very short fadein. I get minor pops sometimes, but it works well for me in live use.

Snapshooter looks cool, but I don't use any transport features, ie no Play, and it seems designed for that.
