Custom menus breaks after 1024 entries

Custom menus breaks after 1024 entries - everything after it just gets cropped and not even saved.

I keep bumping on this limit and thinking how to simplify things but I keep running out of stuff to omit from the menus - it would be nice to see the number of entries increased.
