I like the idea, but the vol knob behaves like a pan/width knob.
It should start it's sweep from the bottom left and go all the way to bottom right.
While either knob will work for the pan, I think the 'ring' style sweep would work better for the vol knob.

Mordi, with FX turned off it's hard to see the letters ("FX").
Maybe, some 3D effect will make them stand out more?

Could you show an example? How would it look if you were to turn the volume down?

Yeah, everything is in the background, in a way. I've been thinking about visibility, and I for me personally I want a low-contrast theme. I don't know how it will end up - I'm still experimenting with it.
Made the grid look just like FL, with some slight alteration. There is a preference for setting every 8th bar to a different color, which really helps.
Here's a full picture of how it looks as of right now.

Ha, nice. Early on, I was considering this. I did actually make the graphic for it - but I was going to use it for the record arm button, which didn't quite work.
It's a nice idea! I felt like it would be a bit too unfamiliar for Reaper folks, but I think I could get used to it.
I tried making a quick version of it:
It's in the wrong spot, but - could work. At least it's true to FL Studio.

Yeah if you plan on using that light instead of mute, it might be nice if it was an option or something. Personally, I'm not a fan of it. I like my TCP to be low contrast in the default state and prefer the previous look of the mute button

Just an idea if you're going to take that any further, if you made the "on" [i.e, pressed] image a red circle, it might make it a bit clearer. Also, it could mean that the "m" on the track meter isn't necessary, meaning that the tcp looks even less cluttered.
Anyway, it's looking great so far! I'm looking forward to seeing a completed version.

I liked it as the recarm button, doesn't work for me as the mute button.

It's not necessarily a "mute" button as it is an "on" button....so it's definitely not for everyone, but if you're familiar with FL, then it will make a lot of sense.

Yup. Maybe as a layout that emulates the FL way as close as possible.

Ah, okay. Yeah, that makes sense I guess - but I would not prefer this. I've been using arsen's "Fusion" theme for years, so everything I do is a bit colored from that, since I'm so used to the visual language it uses.
Here's how the theme looks in my Affinity Designer project.
Edit: Experimentation with the TCP.

Skinned the scrollbars. The TCP and arrange views are fairly complete now.

Started working on the items. Experimenting with how to make it apparent that items are selected. The green color could be used to signify selection clearly, regardless of item color.

Thanks! I'm gonna swap out the volume knob with one that looks like the TCP ones at some point.

Thanks! I did that by using yellow lines, like so:
The yellow lines on the bottom is a personal preference of mine; I like how the items align with the grid when the item has 1px extra at the right end.
A nice surprise was that they actually disappear when the label disappears!
Edit: You also need to set some preferences for this to work (thanks to Odys for posting this).

Labels above are unselectable
Smaller item bigger problem

That why I added line on the bottom

4 pixels separation
Item looks selected no matter the scale

That's a novel idea. I took some care in making the item darker when it is selected to get around this - we'll see how well it works after some testing.
Edit: Added new item icons.
Edit: Made a shoddy monitor-fx button. Here's how everything looks so far:

Which PNG image did you modify to get the title bar for the media items. I love that concept, SONAR uses it, but I never knew how to do that in Reaper. It looks great in your theme.

Thanks, emwhy. See Odys post above, and also this post.
The only bummer is that you can't grab the item using the faked title bar, but I haven't had any issues while testing so far.
I mostly work with tiny track sizes though, like this:

I think there's a way with mouse modifiers where the item can only be moved by dragging the top portion. I will have to look that up, it's been a while since I've messed with the programs functionality.
And thanks for the info on how to create this look. I use Albert's Pro Tools X theme which I modified a lot, so this will give me one more excuse to play around with the PNG files for items.

Looks amazing. Are you gonna make "ghost notes" more present like they are in FL Studio? Now they are very hard to see. I'm colorblind so they need to see, maybe in another color.
Thanks

Thank you, Tobbe. That’s a preference you can set. It was set to 2 in the image, afaik. It goes from 1 to 3, I believe.
Edit: Made some progress on the toolbar icons and the MIDI editor.

Love those volume graphics, would be cool if you used the pan graphics for movement on the volume and pans but your new graphics in a different colour within the pan dial for pan width.
Probably can’t be done though and a bit fiddly with those small dials but it would be cool for visual representation anyway.

Thanks, smasha. Maybe I'm slow, but I don't quite get your idea. You're right that I need a dial for width though - not sure how that should look.
Implemented the small general buttons.
I'll have to fix how these ended up, though.
I'm not a fan of colons, so I removed those using a language pack.

I believe he means that your volume knob uses a "pie chart" effect and your pan knob uses a circular line. And he would like both to have the pie chart effect.

Ah, okay. Yeah, I might experiment some more with my knob.
More work on toolbar icons:
Edit: Started working on envelope control panels:
Edit: After some testing I have a note to self:
- When peaks are zoomed in, and items are thin it's impossible to see what's selected and what's not. Need to differentiate peaks colors.

Mordi, I was able to create the fake title bar on the item_bg.png files, but the peaks from the waveforms display over the title bar with files that are over a certain DB level. Is there a way around this with the png file or is a WALTER thing? Thanks in advance.

Title bar has to be over yellow lines https://forum.cockos.com/showpost.ph...6&postcount=60
You also have select to draw item label above item in options

If you don't mind me asking... What are the benefits of a "content-free" title bar?
In REAPER and in Pro Tools the item (region in PT) name takes just as much space as it needs, which I find perfect.
In Logic, on the other hand, no matter how long the region (item in REAPER) is and how short its name the whole lane is dedicated to those few digits.
I fail to see any use in it. In my opinion, it only eats up screen space (track by track by track, etc).
And if I remember correctly, in Cubase you can switch between the modes and in Logic you can't (which I see as a downside.)
Am I missing something here?
Some additional functionality?..

Not sure what you mean by content free. Mine, even with the new title bar still displays he name of the file and whatever icons I select for muting, adding fx, locking, grouping etc.

Audio items consist of audio (waveforms) and MIDI items consist of MIDI (bars like in PianoRoll), that's their content.
Locking and muting indicators etc. shouldn't be that wide so they would take the whole screen-wide lane.
In my opinion.
How many indicators are there anyway, fifty?
