Default Two long term persistent bugs that I really hope will be fixed.

Spent a bit of time away from Reaper working on a project in PT and, in coming back, there's a couple long term bugs which I used to overlook but are very frustrating and really should have been fixed some time ago:

- The way text and, more specifically, the space bar, works when filling text fields in plugins needs a permanent fix, not just a workaround. The 'Send all text to plugin window' option works ok but it is such a pain that Reaper does not have some way of remembering this setting for every session for specific plugins. Better yet, it would be nice if such an option were not needed. For as many flaws as it has, PT and the vast majority of other DAWs have this taken care of. If you hit spacebar in a plugin's search window or any window in the plugin, it should not stop or start the DAW. This gets really frustrating over time.

- [Edited/Corrected] For mono tracks with mono input, all too often the plugin pin configuration instantiates incorrectly with the left output doubled up where it should not be. Obviously this tilts the panning in such a way that it is usually noticeable and, therefore, fixable, but it really shouldn't be happening to begin with.

I hate to be annoying and be the "this doesn't happen in XYZ app" but these two things just don't happen in PT and it really is disruptive to flow to have to stop and fix these things that should really not be broken by this stage in Reaper's development.

Thanks for your time and efforts. I hope these to things get fixed!

Reaper has no knowledge of mono tracks, it’s all at least 2 channels so it’s not a bug per se
To solve the mono/stereo plugin issue you have to go to the pin mapping of the plugin, set VST bus size to 1 and reconnect the missing pin.

Regarding the spacebar thing: I hear you. It’s pure pain lol

It shouldn't be as bad as you guys say.
Don't set spacebar shortcut as global + textfield
Disable When space key is pressed in plug-in text fields, send to main window in Preferences > General > Keyboard /Multitouch

Nope. My spacebar is not global and the option is disabled. This still happens

Here transport was stopped. I try to rename a pad in Sitala to "Hello World". As soon as i press space, transport plays. Space is NOT global, and the pref in Multitouch/Keyboard is disabled

Hm. Maybe it's different on Mac. I'm on Win. But I'll check Sitala too (previos version).

I showed sitala just as an example. It’s the same in every plugin. And yeah, it’s probably Mac related if u say windows doesn’t suffer from this

In regards to the mono plugin thing - I misremembered the symptom and did not report it correctly. This is actually what happens:

"For mono tracks with mono input, all too often the plugin pin configuration instantiates incorrectly with the left output doubled up where it should not be."

In regards to the spacebar thing, I can confirm that I am on a Mac and have all settings correct and still experience this bug.
