Phase alignment script?

I was wondering, since there are scripts around matching takes in the vein of vocalign etc, could there be a script that matches the phase alignment of two tracks, a la Autoalign or something similar?

I believe this could be a cool tool to have natively, for example matching multi mic sources, samples etc.

ReaPack/mpl_Comb-filtering check selected items.lua currently is a closest way to do this from Reaper scripting side, but there are more clever 3rd party tools in the market.

Not a script, but I added an effect with delay-detection the other day, in case that's relevant?

I wrote it because I had multiple microphones recording the same source and wanted to figure out the best delay to try and get a good stereo image.
