resetting menus in customize menu / tools bars does not do anything

Did the OS update perhaps change or reset the behavior how a right-click is triggered to default settings? https://www.imore.com/how-change-mou...tings-your-mac

Enabling the option Control+left-click emulates right click under Preferences > Editing Behavior > Mouse might also be useful for you, in general.

Default right-click context menu lost

Hello and thank you for answering.
I actually checked all these points, but I lost the right-click context menu only on Reaper's icon and track icons and only Reaper.
moreover I just realized that Reaper no longer saves the Recent Projects

Just to clarify:

Does it not open/show a context menu at all?
Or did you use a customized context menu before. And now it shows a different or default context menu?

I'm not exactly sure what you mean with 'saves the Recent Projects':
- Do you mean the list under File > Recent Projects?
- Or something else?

And can you please also attach some screenshots of the problems.

How to: post attachments and screenshots: https://forum.cockos.com/showthread.php?t=140670

Right click with a mouse and track pad are both working in in High Sierra. All settings/prefs/config files originated from a Sierra install.

What version of REAPER are you running?

You're right, I just downloaded version 5.62 and the problem remains the same, no context menu on a right click in the areas of the items and track
However, in the right-click area, FX, trim, IN, Input, route, M, and S open a context menu.

This right here. It's worded weirdly backwards and leads you to uncheck the box to let you use the control key for an additional modifier. But that disables it from letting you do control-click. And right-click is a mouse shortcut for control-click.

I'd suggest to make a fresh portable Reaper install to a separate folder (as shown in the video here: https://reaperblog.net/2015/07/reape...nstall-option/) to check if the same problem happens there ...

Hello
I just installed Reaper on another hard drive (Riper2), and now I find the right operation of my right cilc.
I was thinking of importing the new Riper2 configuration to Riper1, but the problem still persists on Reaper1. So I think there is a corrupted file on Riper1 but which one? Do you have an idea?

Difficult to guess without knowing/seeing exactly what the problem is.

In general, you can try to do the following:

1) Export and save your Reaper1 config (the one which has the problem) as .ReaperConfigZip
2) Then import this one into a fresh Reaper2 install and in the Import Configuration window:

- Deselect the [Menu Sets] checkbox on the left side (so this one is not imported) - to see if this makes any difference
- Or Select and import only one of the category checkboxes on the left side at a time - to see after importing which part of the config the problem starts

Otherwise maybe you can attach the .ReaperConfigZip file of your Reaper1 configuration to a post (see the link in post #6 about how to post attachments) so we can have a closer look at it.

General info about exporting/importing configurations can be found here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=HB4C3njFxRg

If I export and save my Reaper1 config and I import this config in Reaper 2 -> No change in Reaper 2 Right clic is OK
If I export and save my Reaper2 config and I import this config in Reaper 1 -> No change in Reaper 1 Right clic is not OK
that I check one or all the checkboxes

OK, then try to reset the Reaper config with one of the two options:

1) In your Reaper1 install go to Options > Show REAPER resource path ...
2) Move the reaper.ini to a different location (so you still have this one as backup)
3) Restart Reaper afterwards (to see if this is enough to solve the problem)

1) In your Reaper1 install go to Options > Show REAPER resource path ...
2) Move the whole Reaper resource folder (with all files in it) to a different location (so you have this one as backup in case you need to copy certain files back later!)
3) Restart Reaper afterwards

Thank you
You have solved my problem with the second solution.
I wish you an excellent day

Hello
I give you news.
I am so sorry but the problem came back this morning by turning on my computer.
Now thanks to solger I could isolate the problem and it comes from the file "reaper_sws_extension" in the folder "UserPlugins"

I thank everyone for helping me find my problem.

Very strange that the right-click problem seemed to be related to the SWS Extensions - unless some settings or files might have gotten corrupted somehow (for whatever reason) ...

But great to hear that you could find the source of the problem.
