Default Autoplaying MIDI files with instruments programmatically

Hi!

I'm trying to use Reascript to try and autoplay the midi files from a computer program (with Python, Lua or any programming language). I have a load of midi files that each represent different instruments. Given these files, I want to play AUi (I use a macOS High Sierra) instrument soundtracks on Reaper (not just piano notes) - simultaneously, as if I have imported these files into the Reaper software. I have read the Reaper documentation, yet I am unsure where to start.

I heard that you could use the Action menu on Reaper to perform certain actions on Reaper, but I want to do this directly from a computer program. Is this possible? If not, are there any other audio-editing softwares or libraries in which I could play MIDI files using virtual instruments with good quality sound?

Thanks for your thoughtful feedback and support!

I think GarageBand could import midi files but for quality, I don't know...
