Default Doesn't Work?

I installed the plug in to Firefox 3.04 and restarted Firefox. But when I go to a product page on Amazon, there is no button for tracking the price like it showed in the Grease Monkey plug-in description page. There is just the usual Amazon "Add to Shopping Cart" button. Any ideas?

I should have also asked whether I understand Grease Monkey correctly - it automatically adds the button for any product, right? Or do I need to specifiy which products I want to track?

Odd, it works here: https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/319634/epson.png

Which versions of Firefox and Grease Monkey are you using? And are you sure you're using our most recent GM script?

Both the button and price history info should popup automatically for most products.

I am using Firefox 3.0.4.

I misunderstood the process. I had installed Grease Monkey, but had not installed the script for Amazon. I thought GreaseMonkey was all that was required. I now understand that GreaseMonkey is a generic script program and the specific Amazon script is also required. I have now downloaded the script (today, so it must be the latest version). The downloaded file has an extension of .js.

I am not sure how to install this script. When I double click on the file, it gives a runtime javascript error that says "'window' is undefined."

I went into Firefox and saw a GreaseMonkey entry in "Tools". It has a "New User Script" option/dialog but I didn't figure out how to actually add one.

How do I install the script?

Thanks.

I guess our site could make clearer the differences between Greasemonkey and our own script, and that both are necessary.

With Greasemonkey properly installed, you should simply be able to click the following URL and it will prompt you for install:

http://i.camelcamelcamel.com/javascr...lcamel.user.js

The prompt looks like this for me:

https://stash.reaper.fm/oldsb/321867/...stallation.png

Let me know how this works!

I clicked on the link, chose "Open" and got the error message shown in this link:

http://i18.photobucket.com/albums/b1...mccl/Error.jpg

Thinking it could be my anti-virus/firewall blocking the installation, I temporarily disabled it and still got the error.

Any suggestions? Thanks.

It looks like you're trying to open this file from Internet Explorer, is that the case? If not, maybe the URL is opening in IE for some reason?

Just for the record, our Greasemonkey script probably won't work with Greasemonkey for IE.

You are right, I was trying to open it from IE. After seeing your post, I opened it from Firefox, installed it, and it now works with Amazon!

Thanks for all your help. This is a great tool and adds much value to my Amazon shopping.
