On a related note, 'layers' recording mode is currently not respected with 'auto-punch selected items'.

@Justin: could you take a look at this?
It's about the MIDI editor ruler font, which either can't seem to be changed or is grainy, because it's not aliased. But you woul know better:

Indeed I don't understand why MIDI editor ruler doesn't use the same exact font as arrange ruler... it makes sense.

Heh it looks like there's a bug causing the MIDI editor ruler to never change fonts (it uses the font that was set when the MIDI editor was first opened, then never re-creates it on theme change), oops.

Yep, and it does, just until you change the theme

Additionally MIDI editor ruler also doesn't update the font when "Timeline font" is changed from theme dev/tweaker, just so you know

Yep same bug ("change the theme" means "switch themes" or "edit the theme")

Yeah, midi editor ruler and grid is inferior to arrange in many ways.

Number one for me is the minimum spacing which is too far apart with no option to follow visibility. It results in innumerable errors with things snapping to invisible lines.

The divide/color background by measure thing available in arrange has been mentioned by a lot of people.

I like a neon green loop points in arrange with vertical lines. (Ruler text is different, more subtle, color) It would also be good to have the same mouse modifier abilities in piano roll, as arrange, for loop points and time selection.

I don’t think selected offscreen note color should be used, at all, when notes are not selected. Reversing direction of this post, I think it might be nice to have this type of indication for items and track selection. And maybe horizontally as well.
Also, I keep trying to drag copy media items the same way we can copy midi notes, with the mouse not directly on the notes. Lol.

And please please, while you're at it, the automatic zoom when double clicking a midi item in the arrange view when in "midi editor timeline follows arrange view timeline" mode is not necessary really . Sorry for disrupting the pre-release thread again with my stories about zooms, but hey, I don't even know how to start a thread by myself, nor was I able to put the CPU in its socket without breaking the motherboard. I'm THIS guy.
Sorry for the inconvenience !
Bye
