i've been using a version of this XP for a couple months now and loving it.
today i went to turn the computer on and got a message about
WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\CONFIG\SYSTEM is "missing or corrupt" and windows cannot start without it.
i'm not the most software savvy dude around, but my understanding is that this (DuX XP) has the NT backup system removed. is this correct?
not being the most software savvy dude around i haven't been using a 3rd party backup either.
so, given i have no backup on this system, is there any way to repair the "CONFIG\SYSTEM"?
i looked at the microsoft stock instructions for doing this and it looks to me like those are calling up information from bak files made by the NT backup system.
so am i screwed here?
