All recordings are recorded too slow
Hi,
i have a very big issue.
I recorded an entire audiobook.
During the recordings, i had listened to the recordings and they where fine.
At the end of it, all of a sudden everything playes around 10% slower, with a lower pitch too.
I checked all samplerate settings and they where fine.
I noticed then that all ther flac files i recorded, had indeed this 10% slower speed and pitch.
How is that possible?
And can i possibly recover?
I tried to change the playback seed, but it sounds terrible.
I use reaper (pc) for a long time. Never anything like this happend to me.
If i cant recover the files, a lot of tiring work will be lost.
Thanks

I don't think I can be much help to you, but while you're waiting for more help you could check to see whether the actual recordings are too slow, or whether it's a playback issue. Are the files still slow if played in other programs or media players?

Sounds like the difference between 44.1Khz and 48Khz ... somewhere your audio has been changed.
Check your Windows sound settings and see if a windows update has changed it. This does happen quite regularly - blame MS for this one.

All files are recorded in 44.1 flac. And the slownews is already in the files. everything has been set to 44.1. From windows to Reaper.

Are you absolutely sure you have the "speakers settings" set to 44.1Khz? Just a final sanity check. See picture attachment.

There is a slider in the middle of the screen, right of the transport controls. I never noticed until yesterday, it can speed up and slow down playback. I never really paid attention, but I guess i was hovering on it and moved the center scroll wheel.
