Don't know about the first one, but the second one is to do with Hidpi graphics... 'aware' makes the program aware of the high resolution, so it runs Reaper at 4k. 'Multimonitor' is for when you are running one 4k monitor and one that's not, as far as I can tell.

I believe if one of your screens is not running at 4k or higher, then it's all irrelevant anyway... and in my experience 4k is not great at the moment on any DAW, as many plugins don't scale correctly (all the native instruments VSTi's for example, so you end up with a teeny tiny Kontakt window).

I might be wrong regarding the exact functionality, but in my testing this seems to be the case.

Hi Joe,
That's true of most of them but not all.
A small number of NI plugins now scale. Choral, Flair, Phasis FX along with with Massive X have multiple size options.

I would be wary of using 4k on a small display, IOW high DPI. However a large 4K TV used in close quarters would be something else.

Pepe44,
I seem to remember trying to increase the GUI elements a while back and ending up with mildly corrupted graphics in parts. I cannot remember if it was this though.

If you want to try bigger GUI graphics on multiple displays try the options in the Reaper 6 GUI work in progress.

The first option is a window style the OS uses, toolbar style is usually a thinner title bar without an icon,

On Windows 10 I have to enable that option otherwise the floating Mixer, FX chain windows will not fit on screen correctly when maximized.
