Default Jumping In Head First

SO long story short, found reaper while building up for a PT rig. It got really expensive and very involved very quickly. Headaches abounded. Then saw a small bit on Reaper. WOW so glad, and can't wait to get everything the way I want/need/like it. Spent a bit of time here, reading and getting reaper installed and (I think) working fairly well.

I'm definitely going to need to have some method via plug ins or external equip to allow quality guitar and bass tracks.

I would like to take any and all suggestions based on experience of other "Reapers".
Guitar Rig and Bias were the first two I began to look into. Bias seems to have it's issues with noise (?) and Guitar rig is a contender.

This new iRig Stompbox really caught my eye tonight. Y'all can check it out here if you like...

So please help out a fledgling user and share any and all advice and experience with what works for you as far as guitar tones and effects that are usable within Reaper, or as the item I mentioned above through USB.

I'm sure I'll be posting more questions and asking advice, soaking up all the knowledge I see here.

Peace and Good Happiness stuff...

Addictive Drums installed. Able to run as stand alone, and also have them running as plugin. Really nice how Reaper separates it into separate tracks if I choose.

Now have to figure out how to get it to a recordable state.. A little overwhelming at first. but its further along than I was last night, so Ill call that progress.

Hello Not_Here and welcome to the forum.

If you are considering
http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products...igstompio-info
then you would also get AmpliTube 4 Deluxe (http://www.ikmultimedia.com/products/amplitube4deluxe/) and other software. No need for Guitar Rig.

For sure! I started with the Intro Videos... They convinced me I had found the DAW I was looking for. I'll jump ahead and give your suggestions a look. I love the clear explanations and the Cristopher Walken vibe.

Right? Not only that, but I will also have more than one way to route signal to the computer. Either USB from the new I/O or the L/R outs can be sent to the 2i2, or as a midi controller for software on the laptop. It also is easily set for Bass and Vocal use too. Not to mention, not having to fire up the laptop to jam or play out. iPad on the floor(?) is solved with the mic stand attachment I have for the iPad. Touch screen access to all parameters on the fly...

Of course a little planning will come into play while tracking, as I really am not a fan of recording all effects as I play. My want to re-do or change effects as the recording process progresses.

I'll Let you all know as soon as it arrives to my command center...
