Are you looking at RAM usage systemwide, or using the REAPER performance meter?

I've checked both.

No, it's a Thunderbolt Display.

What's the resolution? On the Mac REAPER struggles a bit with high resolution displays, could be that this is more prevailing when working with Melodyne...

2560x1440 is on that display (easily googlable). It's not even proper Retina.

Schwa, I just noticed that I get CPU spikes when I try to move, select, change the pitch modulation, etc., on blobs.
For example, REAPER is using 1.6% without touching anything in Melodyne but when I select a blob and try to move it the CPU jumps to 9% and then when it goes back to 1.6% the blob moves. It's quite fast the jump but it does happen.
[EDIT] In the activity monitor on Mac the jump is more drastic. Without touching anything REAPER uses let's say 30% but when I move a blob in Melodyne it jumps to 70% (rough numbers).

If you set REAPER's undo to disabled (max mem use of 0MB), does that change anything?

You nailed it, Justin. That was it. If I disable the maximum undo memory use (0MB) Melodyne works flawlessly. Night and day difference.

See if "Save minimal undo states" option helps with Melodyne.

No, that didn't help ED. Unfortunately...
