Default Autoscale Waveform?

Is there a way to set the waveforms to scale automatically to its peak, and maybe a way to scale it manually, both with a red indicator that it is not to scale?

Some of the waveforms are very tiny coming from the Behringer X32 system, and I use the waveforms to set markers, which I use to set the regions later. I have to drag each channel vertically to expand them in order to see the waveform during a live recording... unless there's a better way to zoom in on the waveform that I haven't learned.

Thanks,
Scott

I can do this during a live recording?

No you cannot normalize during recording.

I'm not sure he wants to normalize items...normalizing means increase the gain.
Here I think he wants just to see the waveform bigger to be more comfortable when he's putting markers, right?

shift+up arrow increase the waveform view, but i'm not sure it work during recording too...

Correct.

Tried that and I didn't see any change.

Yeah, I just verified here. It doesn't work while recording.
Anyway, you can put markers on the run even if their not in the perfect place and correct them when you'de with the recording.
I always do that.
When you it stop the waveform zoom will be applied and you can see the waveforms better.

Anyway...if your waveforms are too much tiny, maybe you're doing something wrong at the gain stage! I have the same issue when i do record of very dynamic pieces where i need to keep the gain down because they have almost 40db of dynamics!
Of course, when they play really quiet with peaks at -37db i really can't see a lot
But with an average peak of -15db you should see the waveform without any problem!

That's what I'm currently having to do, and it is costing me valuable time. I'm trying to get this nailed down so that I can immediately upload a sermon to our website after a church service.

The vertical expanding of a track to find the waveform start / finish is causing me to miss some queues so I was trying to find a better, on-the-fly method.

Is this something that might fit better in the Feature Request category? Would others use it?
