I know that feature but it's not possible to overlay it over the interface you know. And in the video it looks like an unclickable overlay. That was my point.

I'm not sure it is over the interface itself. You can set a background image in the big clock, then overlay the beat count over that.

As far as I see it in the video there is Super 8 in the right top quadrant of the display. And "above" (z-axis) that, a big visual metronome. The point here is obvious - screen space is precious, especially on a laptop, and the visual metronome as an overlay which is "click transparent" a cool thing. My guess it's a linux and the window manager delivers this feature. But maybe @Justin could bring some light in here.
