Hi and welcome to the forums. As with all things, its easier to get answers if you are a little clearer about your problem. Basic things we need to know:

Are you on Mac PC or Linux?

32bit or 64bit version?

What version of Reaper? (32 or 64 bit)

A few basics about your computer, like for example what cpu it uses, how much memory & ideally some idea of what disk drive(s) you have.
Also, are you using an inbuilt sound card for audio or a proper audio/MIDI interface?

More to the specific problem, it would help if you said which plugins have stopped showing up & do the stay gone or is this random dropouts?

Have you checked out the free user guide and the excellent free video tutorials at reaper.fm? It does sound like you could help yourself by understanding how Reaper logs plugins & what happens if you have one installed that crashes.

First step if you didn't already is to go into reaper`s options/preferences/plugins/ menu and clear & re-scan your plugin paths. This will re-find anything that somehow got broken.

I have a similar problem on my laptop win 64, latest Reaper, specifically with Native Instruments vsts. Problem started like one month ago, doubt it's a hardware question. I have a Presonus interface and a Komplete midi controller.

NI's stuff simply disappears (Komplete Kontrol, Kontakt 64 bit, Maschine 2, Raum, etc... I manually removed the 32 vst folder from Native's folder, just to force Reaper to look for the 64 bit versions during the clear cache and rescan procedure (done it many times), since for some reason Reaper could only find Kontakt player 32.

I have Kontakt play installed (the free version). Atm, I suspect it has something to do with later Reaper updates.
