A 'light' version is also available: LCS_Default_2.0

DETAILS:
Built from Reaper v2 Default.
Default 2 is what Reaper looked like when I started using it.
I was curious to see what I could do with it and this is the Dark version that I made with after making the Light version.
I added several new layouts for the MPC and the Master MPC, but the other layouts are based on fallback defaults White Tie created for older themes to use in Reaper 4, 5 & 6.

INSTRUCTIONS:
Copy the 'LCS_Default_2.0_Dark.ReaperThemeZip' file in your 'Reaper/ColorThemes' folder

PLEASE NOTE THE FOLLOWING:
- This theme is best used with 1080 and lower resolutions.
- This theme is compatible with Reaper 6, but does not use the Theme Adjuster
- The Recinput is only available in the TCP on the meter when the track is armed.
- This theme uses faders (aka: 'Sliders') for Volume & Pan instead of knobs.
- The theme uses Reaper v4 style track coloring.
- if you want brighter meters, use the Theme Tweaker to turn off the interlace style meters.
- The theme includes RTconfig files for use in Reaper v2.0 & v3.0

CHANGES MADE:
- desaturated/removed color from backgrounds and non active buttons.
- changed text and symbols on almost all buttons.
- swapped the meter and fader positions on the MPC layouts
- split the 4 MPC 'Compact' layouts in 2 Narrow and 2 Strip layouts and reorganized them
- darkened all backgrounds, buttons, faders, etc.
- changed the images for the FX list, Send List and FX Param list.

ADDITIONS MADE:
- made I/O & NoRec missing states buttons for the MPC and TPC
- made a dedicated I/O button for the MASTER MPC
- made a dedicated FXin button for the MCP and TCP
- Big Meter layouts for the MPC and Master MPC
- Sidebar layout for the MCP
- Separator and VCA layouts for the MPC and TCP
- Blue, Green, Red and Gold (aka: yellow) fader layouts for the MCP & TCP.

I like both the light and dark versions and wonder...
is it possible to tweak to be able to drag the bottom edge of the transport all the way down so as to hide the mixer?

I realise this can be Ctrl+M'd but ...
I realise some themes can't do this but no harm in asking. I have a little vid somewhere I could probably find if not clear.

Lucas, nice JOB!

(I think) I like this version better... It's a good compromise between light and dark. It does have a porta-studio vibe to me, which I really like!

This mod was actually pretty easy.
After making new text and symbols for the buttons, I only had to adjust the existing code to swap the fader and meter positions on the MCP for most of it.
The Big Meter layout was just resizing the meter and relocating the fader.
The Sidebar layout was just resizing the Strip, sliding the controls over and adding the FX list to it.

Adding Color Faders is "super easy, barely an inconvenience".
Adding Separators are as easy as adding color faders.

The Light version took about 2-3 weeks, but I didn't work on it every day.
The Dark version took less time since most of what I was doing was just making the image files %50-%100 darker.
I had to Make new FX/Send/FXparam backgrounds since the previous ones didn't work well with the dark version.

Yes, this can be done.
I didn't really explore how small the layouts could go before breaking with this one since it was just a quick mod.

You will need to unpack the theme and access the RTconfig file in the image folder.
Alternatively, you can extract the RTconfig using a utility app like 7-Zip.

Add the following code in the top section of the RTconfig between the trans_speed_zero line and the WALTER line.

To allow the mixer to pull down all the way:
mcp_min_height -2

To allow the mixer to pull down to the minimum height before breaking layouts:
mcp_min_height 169


I may add the new minimum height to a future update, but can't say when that might be.

Yeah, I like it better too, but I think I may be partial to darker themes in general.

Also can't seem to get the layout nameslike VCA ____, SEPARATOR ____ to work
in the color/icon/layout. Having trouble figuring out how many underscore dashes to use.

You can find the layouts names in the RTconfig.

Couldn't get the separator in TCP or MCP to work.
Figured it out once I opened the rtconfig in the theme.
Needed to know the number of spaces and underscore dashes.

Just wanted to note that this little theme has just over 1000 downloads at the moment.
Possibly half of those were re-downloads to get the recent updates.
1000 downloads in 2 months may not seem like much compared to the popular themes, but it has far exceeded my expectations.

It's a fun little theme and I'm currently still using it myself.

Yes.
right click on the track and select "Lock Track Height"
this is located just under "Lock Track Controls"

I think it was added with version 6 or one of the updates for version 6, ut I can't say for sure.
