Default Lua: Step sequencer for items (arrange view)

Step sequencer for items

* bfut_Step sequencer (copy first item on track and fill grid bar under mouse)
* bfut_Step sequencer (copy first item on track to grid bar under mouse).lua
* bfut_Remove item under mouse cursor (delete).lua

Copies first item on track under mouse cursor to grid bar under mouse cursor. Requires SWS extension.

Add a source media item at the beginning of your target track. Set a time selection, e.g. 4 grid bars on a 1/4 grid division setting. Hit play. As you add and remove media items, REAPER's arrange view now behaves like a pattern-based step sequencer. Try adjusting the grid settings.

How to set up:
1) Install both scripts, and SWS.
2) Open REAPER > Actions > Show action list
3) Assign keyboard shortcuts to each script (e.g. SHIFT+Q, SHIFT+A, and SHIFT+D), respectively.
Holding a key combination, continuously executes a script.

How to use:
1) Hover mouse over arrange view.
2) Run the script.

Installation
Directly from https://github.com/bfut/ReaScripts or
Copy and paste this URL in Extensions > ReaPack > Import a repository:
Code:
https://github.com/bfut/ReaScripts/raw/master/index.xml

Hi tufb, I get this when executing "bfut_Step sequencer (copy first item to current grid division)".

Fixed, thanks!

Redownload directly from github or with ReaPack:
Extensions > ReaPack > Synchronize packages;
then reinstall.
Same version number.

The original step sequencer script has been replaced by two new ones. Version number bumped to 2.0

Depending on which script you execute, the pasted item will be cut off at the next grid division or not.

Other Changes:
+Feature: running script on an empty track inserts empty item

Thank you for asking. If we're talking media items, then volume (aka. velocity in FL's sequencer), pitch, etc. are all controlled via MediaItem properties. All those can be adjusted via native actions. One route is setting up custom toolbars or keyboard shortcuts, if not already defined.

FL's piano roll, in turn, is mostly equivalent to REAPER's MIDI editor.

I recommend subscribing to my GitHub repo via ReaPack-manager. All my scripts are geared towards working with media items (including MIDI items), and complete each other for various standard tasks, in track arrange view.
