ReaPack: Package manager for REAPER
ReaPack: Package manager for REAPER
ReaPack is an extension for easily downloading and updating REAPER resources (currently: ReaScripts, JS effects, themes, native extensions, language packs, web browser interfaces, automation items, project templates, track templates and MIDI note names).
Out of the box it gives easy access to more than 900 resources of all sorts from the ReaTeam repositories (uploaded by the community), mpl's and X-Raym's collections.
More repositories can be imported into the extension to get access to even more resources. Developers can submit content to the ReaTeam repositories or alternatively host their own.
ReaPack let you install only what you want (Browse packages) or everything in bulk (Options > Install new packages when synchronizing):
Latest stable release: v1.2.4.2 (2022-10-07) https://reapack.com/release-notes/v1.2

Love it! Essential add-on for REAPER. Next best thing to having all this stuff native in a DAW. But that ship has sailed

This is a true masterpiece :P
Scripting used to be a secret thing on ReaScript/JSFX forum, which has a lots of lost treasure known only by the veterans, but with ReaPack, we aim to make script/effects/resources sharing easier than ever, so that any one can enjoy them freely !
If you want to Understand a bit more the idea behind ReaPack, take a look at this article :
ReaPack: Download, Manage and Update ReaScripts/JSFX Easily with this new REAPER Extension / ExtremRaym
Cheers, and thanks to everyone that will support our free community work on these projects (ReaPack, and the resources creation associated to it) !

OMG! thanks a bazillion times for this little gem!
For a dumb musician like me who has no idea how to even implement a reascript into reaper, this is like a light from the heavens!

That's the beauty of it! it's a wrapper for us non programmers, so we can use all the amazing tools the coders did through the years.. like audio quantizing, fancy splitting schemes... amazing templates.. cool JS effects.. all there at your fingertips!
all that power in a simple, click-able box that auto updates...
OMG is this ever cool!
Since you don't know how to program, this bad boy is taylor made for YOU

Thanks to cfillion for creating this beatiful extension from many users! This openes scripting world for regular users and, as X-Raym said, bring REAPER evolution to another level.
Glad we finally did it!

no success here with install Reapack 64, Mac Snow leopard 10.6.8 and Reaper 5.20 64b.
Extensions menu doesn't show Reapack and i don't get this :
"Upon first launch you will be presented with the configuration dialog (also available from Extensions > ReaPack > Manage repositories)"

Big thanks to the whole ReaTeam for your work.

Offline?
Great idea!
It sounds like you have to be online for this to work? If I install on an internet connected pc and then copy the ini etc backup over to my daw pc will that do it? Edit: never mind, done; it installed all packages on first pc then copied ini over. Works fine

Brilliant! Have been waiting for something like this...
Would be great if the GUI had a "preview" panel where it would show some infos about the selected script (description, version, changelog, link to the thread), and screenshots for themes (are themes supported btw?).

Thank you so much for your positive feedbacks !
@avocadomix
Try the Browse package function
For themes, nothing at this time but maybe in the future, but if we want a really nice theme browser, then it should be able to handle small screenshots etc... Well, nothing planned, as it is not that straightforward to do, but definitely something in mind.

Yeah, you can already browse themes at https://stash.reaper.fm/
It's probably not worth 3 people's time to implement something which would save a few people a little bit of time.

Thanks for this excellent resource management tool.
Alex.
EDIT: I appreciate Native Linux Reaper is not ready for this, with no current DLL compatibility. However we do have native linuxVST and LV2 plugin formats in Linux, and should the day ever come that either or both of those are added to Linux Reaper, I ask that the team responsible for the ReaPack tool consider modifying it for Linux as well.

But then you can also browse all the other content elsewhere online... The whole point of reapack (as I understand it) is to make the thing straightforward and easy, right from inside Reaper. And to make user-created extentions easier to discover for much wider audience. All of that does not apply to stash.

Yes, but you currently can't do this with scripts, hence the reason for ReaPack.

Yes it's a fantastic idea and initiative by you ReaTeam scripters to allow users to keep a collection of favourite scripts up to date.
Not that I actually have favourites of course.
I find it breathtaking the way you have managed to have new scripts appear in the action menu immediately on installation without needing a re-start of REAPER.

Can't try this directly right now as I'm in the process of moving to another apartment but judging by the video, the GUI does not have the panel as what I'm proposing. The ability to sort stuff by columns is great but it would be much easier to evaluate whether the script does what I need if it comes with a short description which I can review before deciding whether to download and install it. What I imagine is something like this:
http://screenshots.ubuntu.com/screen...7782_large.png
(btw a search/filter function would be greatly appreciated, too!)

Thumbs up !!!
Works flawlessly here so far.
I find it very straightforward, didn't even need to read the manual.
Love the fact that packages (scripts) are put in action list automatically.
Thank you to all involved with this.
Only suggestion / idea I'd have: In the 'Package Contents' display, also put a clickable link to the corresponding forum (announcement) thread (if existant). I see though given that some contributors have a huge amount of scripts that's something of a task.
edit:
crosspost with avocadomix
Similar idea basically, a way to receive some info about a script prior to installing.

You can. On the forum. I agree that stash is somewhat more organized than forum threads, and hence there was a higher urgency to create a centralized manager for scripts. However there is a similar problem with themes. Trying to find a suitable theme on stash is very far from straightforward. Most users will never get there in the first place and those who did, after going through this once, will hold to whatever they managed to find and just live with that. The result is much fewer people developing good themes than could be because of the minuscule exposure. Reapack can be fix all that, if and when it gains support for themes.

Thank you to all the people involved in this!
Congratulations on the hard excellent work. I know it has been a lot of work since the beginning. People will sure appreciate and support it.
With an easy way to install scripts like this, many people may become aware that REAPER can be extended and what scripts can do for them.

Many thanks for this. Haven't spent much time on the forums lately and had no idea that there were so many new scripts... Great development!

if you have modified your Extensions menu previously you have to add the menu items. Also available through action list.

Indeed, if you used the beta, you can delete all files created by it in the ReaPack user ressources subfolder.

Snow Leopard is not supported at this time. I will try in case I can do something about this and other old OS X versions, but I don't have high hopes for 10.6. The OS X version is built and tested on Yosemite.

Yes, this error mean you had a version older than 0.9-beta installed before. Remove ReaPack/registry.rb from your REAPER resource path and retry.
