...we have a new track out in advance of an album, scheduled for early 2022 (wow that feels weird to write that).
spectral gates are a noise/rave/doom duo. this track came together out of some improvised jams and spirals through time and space. maybe it's a bit of a 'tell' that i'm wearing my autechre shirt again for this one.
tricky track, but a relatively simple reaper session for this one - live drums, two tracks of machine (0coast and pocket operator), two tracks of guitar (atmospheric layer, lead layer). the rest is almost all delays, compressors and verbs. some of the stuff on the next album goes a bit deeper - we have one track with four separate layers of live drums and two layers of drum machine... that one was a nightmare to mix.
pro mastered by william bowden. no idea what he did but it made it good.
That sounds freaking great, D3k - right up my street. The t-shirt rocks too

ahhaha cheers.
btw, i checked out the album in your sig, nice sounds! as my username might indicate i kinda listen to a lot of old reggae...
can't figure out if that's a real spring reverb on there or an emulation or sample though, it's pretty processed. i guess the latter?
Thanks!
Depends which track (guessing Giant), but there are a few different vst springs used in places, psp springbox is probably the most, eh, springy.. also u-he's twangstrom (darker), audiothing springs (quirky), and a couple of others

was listening to track 2 on the album at the time - the glitched spring verb is a really interesting sound.
It looks like an anaglyph video for people with each eye living in a different timezone. Amazing as usual.
btw, i hear you on that comment about shows on the video. we've had so many concerts cancelled at short notice.
it's tricky to figure out how things are going to go. sydney had months of heavy lockdown and got to a high vax rate very quickly after a slow start, cases here are presently as low as they're likely to be for a long time. so everyone's trying to get shows in while things are stable. fingers crossed that things settle down and everyone stays safe.
