Default Native FaderPort v2 - map push button encoder

Hi,

Is there any way to map the turn of the push button encoder to an action using the new (6.05) native faderport v2 support? The actual push emits a midi event but turning the button appears not to.

Is there a description anywhere on exactly what the support includes? Most of it I have worked out but it's always good to know what should be working and what is not.

Many thanks

I'm not even sure what the "native support" actually means. I'm still using the MCU Logic preset on my Faderport 16. Is there a better way?

Better I am not sure but since 6.05 you can use the faderport v2 (single fader at least) set to "native", i.e. studio one mode - not everything is automatically mapped but the basics work really well as much as I've tested it. Buttons that aren't mapped (such as Link, Channel, Scroll, Master, Click, Section and Marker) can be mapped to actions as they emit midi messages but the encoder wheel appears not to and I just wondered if any use of it can be made.

Interesting. I'm not sure about the other buttons, but the Marker button actually works properly under MCU Logic mode. But it would be useful to map all of them to whatever I want. I'll have to experiment with that. Thank you!

On thing that (AFAIK) isn't documented is that pressing the 'Pan' button switches the fader to control the pan instead of the volume. Unfortunately the Pan button doesn't remain lit / blinking so once you've pressed it there is no indicator which "mode" you're in so you may end up changing the pan when you intended to change the volume.

I guess that resolves into a small feature request to keep the pan button lit when in pan mode.

Hi,
Good to know, thanks!

However, I can't figure out which setting is modified by doing that.
None of the Pan or Pre-FX Pan enveloppe follows the fader, but the Pan is actually modified.
