Default Can new portable Reaper installs ask to use existing plugin cache instead of rescan?

Every time I want to try out a new version of Reaper in a portable installation, I recall why I do this so rarely: plugin rescanning.

Can we please have an option to choose not to rescan plugins when a new portable install is launched and there is an existing plugin cache (or index or however it works) in the system from a permanent installation?

Windows 7 x64 if that matters.

Cheers!

You can copy the reaper-vstplugins.ini, reaper-vstplugins64.ini, reaper-vstrenames64.ini files to your portable installation, it should work.

Thanks!

Will try next time. Still hope that this gets implemented, would save plenty of time for many people.

It works! I've tried it a couple of times.
